“pre-cooked food reheated in microwave, recipe for diarrhea....”
Reviewed February 3, 2013 via mobile

i visited this place just to try what it is like to have mexican food in the mountains. And, no you can't have good mexican food in the mountains. we entered into the restaurant at lunchtime and saw the servers huddled in one corner talking, ignoring us even with the sudden gush of cold air and the door banging were no match. i even said "hello we just entered your restaurant" just loud enough for them to overhear us but to no avail. so i said excuse me aloud and the waitress turned and told us to seat anywhere we want to. we made our order and within a couple of minutes it was served on our table. i was so surprised, not that i didn't want fast service but it was so fast, even faster than taco bell drive thru. and to no surprise the food was just out of the microwave. didn't taste a thing and upset my stomach after eating and it lasted for a few days. i would prefer taco bell over this el chapala that is just a waste of money. don't even dare.

“Good affordable restaurant”
Reviewed October 22, 2011

I've eaten here many times. I have never been disappointed. Service is always pleasant and fast. Not sure where the other review went but it could not have been El Chapala.

“Only if you are desperate”
Reviewed September 3, 2010

I have eaten here 4-5 times and each time have been disappointed primarily due to the grumpy waitress. Food comes out within 1-2 minutes after ordering. Nothing great.
