The Buck House Inn is ~ by far ~ the absolute best, most enjoyable, B & B we have ever experienced. And we have stayed in so many over the years that we have lost count. This innkeeper is doing everything right and has created not only a beautiful environment for relaxing and getting away from it all ~ but a welcoming sense of being "at home" from the moment she greets you until you (reluctantly) must leave after enjoying yet another fantastic breakfast, the last of four in our case, before heading home. To us, the food is a big part of the B & B experience and we were never disappointed with offerings like lemon ricotta pancakes, made-from-scratch Belgian waffles with choice of toppings like fresh strawberries, blueberries, pure maple syrup -- and the best bacon ever! Upstairs, outside the guest rooms, you will always find some homemade treats as well as a huge selection of teas, coffees, cocoa and a variety of other snacks to enjoy. Also, there's a little refrigerator stocked with cold drinks -- green tea, wine, beer, cokes, water, etc. I could go on and on, but to sum it up . . . the beauty and serenity of this B & B with the creek running along in front of the house, the deer outside your window at dawn and dusk, the lovely wrap-around porch to relax on as well as the swings overlooking the creek . . . all are more beautiful than their website or any brochure could possibly convey. We could have stayed forever; you will absolutely not be disappointed. But book early ~ folks are starting to catch on that this B & B is not to be missed.

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful and restful - at least two have working fireplaces, two are creekside wi...

Very nice setting. The pre-blight chestnut wood used in the contruction of the Inn is beautiful. Bald Mountain Creek is close enough to be a lullaby at night if you leave your windows open. (We were on the creek side of the Inn. I can't say if that applies to the rooms on the opposite side or not.) The beds were extremely plush and comfortable. Since the Inn is far from the nearest town, this may not be the place for you if you are wanting to spend your time primarily in going to nearby stores and entertainment centers. But if you want simply to get away and relax, sit by the stream or on the porch, or perhaps climb nearby Bald Mountain, this is a very good choice.

Truly a unique B&B, the Buck House Inn provides the personal level of service one expects from an owner who truly loves what they are doing. From the fully restored historic house to the modern conveniences of WiFi, comfort is never sacrificed for authenticity. The setting and adjacent amenities are what travellers aspire to in a mountain retreat. Will be back!

From the moment we walked in until we left, everything was perfect! This B&B does it all first class from the renovations, to the amenities, breakfast and especially the host and hospitality. The setting is really beautiful. We opened our window and the creek lulled us to sleep in great comfort. We wished we were staying longer and will certainly go again. E and J

We've stayed in many B&Bs, but can't recall a more peaceful and relaxing stay. This is a first class B&B complete with all the amenities you could want; plus the most gracious host, all tucked away in the mountains. Some historic inns are too rustic and "tired"; but this is a wonderful blend of professional renovation, original materials and honoring the past. Breakfasts and treats are over the top - fine china and sterling silver! Complimentary drinks, 24 hr. coffee and tea, morning treat outside your room when you wake up and bottomless cookie jar.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the same side as the creek to hear peaceful sounds all night

On our trip we visited four B&Bs in Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia, all of which had their own charm. The Buck House engaged us with the hospitality of the hosts, the history of the home, and the specialty of the breakfast. We'd return often except we live in Missouri.

Such a peaceful get-a-way and a nice place to stay! The innkeepers are hospitable and gracious. Breakfast and snack options were many and well presented. Delicious! The whole setting is restful and calming. Will visit again if I am ever back that way.

Beautiful walking trails and paths that bring you close to nature. The creek soothes the senses especially at night but other times as well.

Thanks, Debbie----Dotty
