We were introduced to Delancy's last week at a family function. The food was great and the staff was great. There is a good variety of choices from plates to sandwiches. We recommend the home cooked vegetable plate or the salad plate (homemade chicken salad, potato salad, pasta salad, AND homemade crackers). We would recommend a stop here and everyone can find something pleasing. The only drawback would be the location, but GPS does take care of that. We are actually talking about another visit even though it is about an hour away.

We first visited this establishment when it was in downtown Gibsonville, NC. They moved it to a more modern location in Burlington, NC - but its soul and identity have remained the same.

At Delancy's, you get home-style country cooking... but with a little bit of upscale feel. For instance, they mix daily specials (Pot Roast, Country-style Steak, Chicken & Dumplings, etc.) with unexpected items like wraps or a delicious "Spreadables" sampler (featuring in-house chicken salad and pimento cheese).

The atmosphere is kind of casual, as you actually order at the counter and then go find a table. The sweet tea is the real deal - and the desserts are fresh and delectable.

All in all, Delancy's is fun... a little bit different... and a neat place to grab a bite. Enjoy.

Delancy's is just a mile or so off the interstate and would be a good choice for any traveler. It's a bit hard to find because it's in a small strip that's somewhat hard to see from the road but put the address in your GPS and you'll be fine.

I didn't make notes as to what we ordered but food and service were both above average. Value was good, too. It's a family-friendly place.

They had a cake I'd never heard of...Brownstone Front Cake. Multi-layered chocolate with a caramel icing. I didn't order it but it sounds good, doesn't it?

I'd recommend Delancy's for anyone traveling through Burlington.

They have a big menu. Lots of vegetables and meats. Daily specials. Decor is nothing fancy, more like a diner. Consistently good. My favorites are the fried green tomatoes, broccoli casserole, fried chicken livers, and chicken pie. My wife likes the chicken fili. Always good and fairly quick at almost a fast food price.
