I spent New Years Eve at this property for a private party, with rooms booked in advance for our group (actually the entire hotel was booked for our group). Upon our arrival, you could see that the outside of property was dated and in need of some paint and sprucing up. This was also after we hit a HUGE pothole in the entrance to the property. As we entered through the back doorway from the parking lot to access our room, there was an overwhelming smell of cigarette butts. This was probably due to all the cigarette butts lying on the ground outside the door that were not disposed of properly or cleaned up by maintenance. As we entered the stairwell, there was a musty smell, which also smelled like the hotel was trying to cover up with Fabreeze. Additionally, later that evening going down those same set of stairs (no elevators in this hotel), the light was not working so it was extremely dark and dangerous maneuvering the stairs once the sun went down. And I believe this is also a fire code violation. When we entered the 2nd floor hallway, again extremely musty smell, this time mixed with stale cigarette smell and incredibly cold (appeared there was no heat in hallway). Upon entering our room, it was even colder in there than in the hall and outside - the heat was not put on prior to arrival, and all occupants of the 2nd floor complained of the same issue. I kept my coat on for the first 3 hours, and the room finally warmed up to a tolerable level approx. 9 hours later.
My husband went in search of ice for cocktails and discovered only one ice machine in the entire building was working. Many ice and vending machines were missing from their designated spots, and the soda/vending machines that were present were empty; however, the machines were still running which allowed the machine to take your money.
In the bathrooms, you were only provided one bath towel, hand towel and washcloth set for each of us and no extras.
I am a travel agent by trade, as well as a Choice Priviledge Member and have stayed at many Quality Inn's that have always provided us with an awesome stay every time. This hotel was VERY DISAPPOINTING and the other reviews are very accurate.
I would hope that the management of this property as well at Quality Inn Corporate will take a hard look at this location and make the necessary changes, upgrades and repairs to this property which will allow themselves to call it "Quality Inn". Should our group plan another event at this location, I will surely find another local hotel to spend the evening.
The only positive remark I will make about the property is that the room and bathroom was clean.
