Lloyds on the River Country Inn

This hotel is a throwback to simpler times. Rocking chair porch on back with quiet river rolling by. The rooms were small but clean. The beds are comfortable. Do not expect frills, this is an older establishment so don't expect a 5 star experience. But, if all you are looking for is clean, quiet, relaxing and affordable, you might want to check out Lloyds on the River. My wife and I found this place in June by accident. We came back in October for the weekend.

Room Tip: No fitness center or resaurant, just a quiet place to stay. Small clean rooms on the River.

Nice owner, rocking chairs overlooking the river in the back yard. The only negative thing is that the inn is located outside the city, so if you are looking for place to eat you have to drive to get there.

If you are looking for a high end hotel, this is not it. If you are looking for a quaint, super clean, friendly place to stay the night, you have found it. Rooms overlook the river with rocking chairs on the balcony for your enjoyment, and this family run inn is away from the hustle and bustle and tourist traps. The owns are very friendly and we truly enjoyed our stay and we will be back the next time we visit the area.

Room Tip: be sure to get a room on the river!

We wish we could have stayed longer. Friendly helpful innkeepers. Clean room with comfortable beds....and, oh those rockin chairs either facing the pool out front or overlooking the river from the back "porch" accessible from the back door of the room. We brought our fishing tackle and caught trout from the river. Very convenient location of 5 miles from Bryson City one way and Cherokee Casino 5 miles the other way. Owners gladly offered information on great places to eat, where to park, and the numerous attractions and activities. We loved the personal touches like the patchwork quilts and restored original room doors. The property grounds were peaceful. The wi-fi was good. The towels/wc were thick, white and soft. I could go on but won't. Go there. Period.

Room Tip: ask for room on the river. There is a room size difference.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The bed was so comfortable. We enjoyed the rocking chairs and the view of the river. The owners were very nice. It was so peaceful. The location was perfect, it was close to Cherokee and the railroad. The place is older but its very charming. The Wifi connection wasn't too good.

We spent four nights and had an excellent experience. The rooms were very quaint, similar to staying at a bed and breakfast. The pool was immaculate, the grounds tastefully decorated with flowers, the river view awesome. Location was great, easy drive to countless excursions in the Great Smokies National Park, Cherokee, Maggie Valley. The "innkeepers" were helpful and informative, pointing us in the right direction for great food and entertainment. Bryson City is a great friendly town with many excellent places to dine, hiking trails and the train ride through the mountains, but does not have the typical "tourist trap" feel.
