We read about Cooper's Creek from Tripadvisor and had to try it for ourselves. The boys had so much fun catching fish. It doesn't take a long time to fish as the trout are eager to eat. The boys wanted to catch more but it can get expensive. No catch andrelease. It was $2 per person to fish, $4.50 a pound for the WHOLE fish and then they will clean it for $1 a fish. Service was friendly. We had to wait to have the fish cleaned but it was worth it as the boys played in a stream (not the trout stream) topass the time. We had enough trout for 2 dinners.

This was our second visit to the area and our second attempt to fish for trout which we had heard so much about in the area. Last year we bought fishing licenses (not cheap by the day), and researched the area, brought all our own equipment with us and did not catch a fish in the whole week. We had tried different places and tried everything and left discouraged.
This year while out driving and exploring the area we saw a sign and decided to follow and see what it was all about. You do have to drive about 3 miles down a dirt road to an opening where you find beautiful setting at bottom of mountain.
When you get there they set you up with all the equipment you need and help if you want it and off you go to catch fish. We got there late afternoon and caught 3 fish within about 10 minutes.....could not believe it after our luck the year before.
They will clean fish for you and you do pay per pound for what you catch. We could not take our fish with us because we were staying in a hotel so the owner said that he would take it down the road to a widower and that they would really appreciate it. We will definitely be back. Wonderful family run business.

This place is in a gorgeous location on the very edge of the Smoky Mountain National Park. The ride up Cooper Creek Road was enjoyable because it is definitely a back road. We caught large, beautiful trout and the staff was so helpful and great with my 2 young boys. My only complaint would be that we caught the fish so fast and wished it could have taken longer because we loved being there.

Jerry Cooper is a generous host who closed the gates early so we could have a private "family reunion" party. Had staff stay late and help us catch and clean our fish. Fun was had by all, from the youngest to the oldest. Everybody caught a fish and made a memory. The fish were delish, too! Was definitely one of the best things we did during our reunion in Bryson city.
