“Beautiful Biking Trails by the lake”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2013

If you are a biker then you have to ride at Tsali. It is worth the trip from wherever you are. My husband rides a lot and I am pretty good. We had a blast on Left & Right loops and then went swimming in Fontana Lake. So cool.

“Tsali Mountain Bike Trails - Awesome Ride”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013 via mobile

Tsali is an excellent set of trails located outside of Bryson City. A total of 4 loop trails, but only 2 are open at a time for mountain bikes. Trail loop length varries from 8 to 11 miles. There is a rotating schedule freeing up 2 trails for horse use each day. Trails are for the most part smooth, fast and flowy. Not technical nor are there any long, hard up hills. There is some elevation but all very doable. I find the trails enjoyable for beginners thru advance. Several great overlooks of the lake and Smoky's. Only issue, no substantial food close by so bring with you along with fluids. $5 parking fee. There is also a campground adjacent to the trails and a boat launch for lake fontana. Bike cleaning station available. Pit toliets. Showers at the campground.

“Muddy but fun”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2013 via mobile

Rode right loop, mouse branch, mouse branch outlook, and Thompson. Mouse has the best view of them of Fontana Lake and was the most fun for me. all were fun and worth the trip. Bike wash is really nice!

“Biking at Tsali is GREAT!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2013

Two days of biking and overnight stay in the campground was superb! Why? Trails are in excellent condition. Single track with a bit of room to spare keeps it safe. Many corners are banked, makes it fun and fast. Lots of pretty lake views. Long downhills. Uphill climbs are gradual mostly, so not too difficult. Four different "loops" to ride, each one a bit different, all start and end at campground. Good signage helps you navigate, and "suggests" a direction or travel, reduces riders going in two directions. Note: trails are usable on alternate days, so you can only ride two of the four trails per day. We found that most people rode Saturday, not many riders on Sunday.
Campsites are VERY nice! All sites are large, with big space between sites. Concrete tables, fire ring and grills built into each site. Bathrooms and showers are in great shape, conveniently located. Only $15 per nit per car.
Nerve feels crowded here, campsite or trails.
