Description: Located in a beautifully restored historic building...down a quiet alley in the heart of Downtown Brevard, The Square Root Restaurant is as well known for its architectural and artistic decor as it is for its fabulous food. Whether you're hoping to enjoy the ambiance of our indoor dining room, our locally crafted wood bar top, or the fresh breezes of our covered outdoor patio - there is room for everyone. Our atmosphere is inviting for romantic evenings, cocktails with friends, and family gatherings. We pride ourselves on serving locally roasted coffee from The Brown Bean, and we offer several local brews on tap and by the bottle. Menu choices include options to please the young and the old, the adventurous and the picky eaters, and anyone who enjoys delicious fresh food at reasonable prices. We also offer a full bar with extensive wine and cocktail choices.

Our party of four had an excellent experience! From the appetizers (avocado spring rolls and chicken lettuce wraps) to dessert (chocolate spoon cake), each bite was perfection. The entrees (five-spice tuna, scallops, hangar steak) were outstanding. The perfect mix of flavors and textures, they were way beyond what one would expect in a casual, bar-like setting. (Oh...and loved the setting as well, especially the cool "log" floor). The one down-side...our waitress, although perfectly nice and attentive, was quite busy and had a hard time keeping up with the kitchen. Our dinners arrived before she could get our salads to the table! Might have been a blessing in disguise...had I eaten my salad, I might not have had room for every last bite of my tuna, which would have been a shame!

Quiet atmosphere, great service and excellent food! The London Broil sandwich is to die for! If the Peanut Butter Milkshake Pie is on the menu, get it first...you won't regret it!

We recently went on two different occasions for a late lunch after playing golf at Sherwood Forest GC just south of Brevard. Service was friendly, polite and professional on both occasions. Our food: Cuban Sandwich, a Side Salad and then the American Burger and a Soup (cheese and broccoli) and a Half Sandwich Combo were all quite good. Their fries are slim cut and were perfectly cooked. The sweet tea was perfectly brewed and sweetened. This is a restaurant with a menu full of good choices. It has a bar area and serves local craft beers. The chairs for the outside seating are not altogether comfortable in my opinion. The restaurant is in an alley about a half block north of the Court House on the west side of Main Street. Definitely give this restaurant a try if you are in Brevard. Note: they have a second restaurant in Hendersonville (which is just off of I-26) about 15+ miles away.

Food was great, the atmosphere is really cute, and they carry the local Brevard Brewing beer. What's not to like! Disappointed that we tried another restaurant, rather than simply coming back here.

Our first visit to Square Root was wonderful with great food, efficient service and good wine. We were there on a busy Saturday evening. Make a reservation if you plan to go on a weekend. One of the better restaurants in Brevard!
