Description: Melanie's is a tradition in downtown Boone serving breakfast and lunch seven days a week. We source all of our bread, eggs and burgers locally as well as other items when we can. We have an eclectic and creative menu serving food made from scratch. We are sensitive to vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diners. Now open evening hours with a new small plate menu, Booneshine beer on draft and wine by the glass. Come see us Thur-Sat evenings and enjoy a drink and a bite to eat on our beautiful deck while you watch the hustle and bustle of downtown Boone.

“Fantastic hamburger!”
Reviewed June 21, 2014

My wife and I loved the hamburger which is made with local beef delivered daily. One of the best that I have ever eaten. Be sure to order the Jamaican slaw which is great. Friendly service. Highly recommended for lunch.

“Lovely outdoor setting nothing fancy but very welcoming”
Reviewed June 20, 2014 via mobile

We drove to Boone N.C. For a look see and lunch my wife likes to try local places and Melanie's fits the bill. The breakfast menu look so good and is served all day. We both went with breakfast. My wife had an omelet and I had a potato dish with eggs both were very good. We shared some whole grain pancakes which were fantastic so so tasty. The service was great and friendly. My only issue was that there is only one unisex bathroom not something I like queuing up for. Plan on returning.

“Perfect Sunday Morning”
Reviewed June 9, 2014

Brunch on a late Sunday morning with friends. Absolutely one of the most interesting meal offerings and dee-lish on top of that!!! I enjoyed stoned ground grits with braised local greens and goat cheese. I know it sounds simple and unusual but the flavor was awesome. Served with their house-made bread and apple butter or jelly. Again, for me, over the top. Two of the other ladies enjoyed the quiche which changes daily. Both stated it was by far one of the best quiches they have enjoyed. The other ladies all had bacon with their breakfast. Not much was said once the "pig" arrived. Looked perfect, not too thin and not too thick. Service was excellent. Small space and so entertaining to watch both the staff and guests just taking it all in. Will be back in November if not before. What's an hour and a half drive for great food!!!

“go early or be prepared to wait”
Reviewed June 8, 2014

From previous reviews we knew to arrive early so we got there about 8:15 and were glad we did. We were lucky to get seated right away but within 5 minutes all tables were filled. Coffee was great. We both had eggs Benedict's. We ordered ours with eggs soft and runny but each came rather medium. The English muffins were wonderful and truly made the plate. But, the amount of hollandaise sauce was very lacking especially since eggs were dry.
We look forward to trying something else on our next visit.......the French toast liked particularly yummy.
