Overall lovely meal. We started with the oyster appetizer. The oysters were perfectly cooked and the flavor combination was spot on. However the presentation lacked any creativity and frankly was visually unappealing. Next we had the grilled escarole salad and the spinach salad. Escarole was quite a hit--flavorful and delightful. The spinach salad was underwhelming--not bad but very basic lacking any wow factor. We had the bison and ostrich entrees. Both were fantastic--cooked perfectly. The shitake-orange gnocchi and cinnamon turnips with citrus miso complimented the ostrich perfectly. The whipped yukon golds and smoked cabbage were fantastic with the bison. Dessert--well if you drink alcohol and love dessert you are at the right place. I found it awkward that every dessert had alcohol in it. Of course, when we asked the server about this he responded with the typical answer---"it cooks off". We did order the doughnuts which were quite yummy however the patron hot chocolate was a glorified shot of tequila.
Service was fantastic. Serving size was ample on all dishes. Presentation was overall uninspiring. Lighting in dining room needs to be addressed--it was quite dark but I would rather error on dark side than bright side in that environment. Music was a bit loud as well.
We would recommend to friends and family and would return once we have tried several other spots in the area.
