I went here with a group of friends on a Friday night around 7:15. Half of my group had already sat down so we joined them. After sitting for about 5 minutes, those in our group who had gotten there 10 or so minutes before us said that nobody had come to the table yet. So 15 minutes after being seated by a staff member, no one had approached the table to even ask for drink orders. And to give you some background, there were barely any people in the restaurant to start with. Finally when our waiter came by a few minutes later, he took our drink orders and left.
For a diner, the prices on the menu were very pricey. You couldn't get barely anything for less than $8...even things that should be cheap. Anyways, I decided on getting the breakfast option that came with 2 eggs and grits or hashbrowns. The price was $5.50 on the menu, so I was figuring that it would come with a generous portion. When the food finally came (it had taken a long time for the short-order food that our group ordered like breakfast food, chili with cornbread, and a veggie burger), I was not happy. My small plate was mostly empty and had a tiny amount of eggs and a half cup - if that - of grits. I was shocked that they would have an option under the breakfast section of the menu that would yield this tiny amount of food. My friends were laughing about how ridiculous the situation was. We attempted to call the waiter over multiple times to ask about my plate, but he "didn't see" us for a long time. When he finally came over I asked him whether this was all the food that came with the option I ordered and asked why my plate - with barely any food on it - cost the same as my friend's plate of chili and cornbread, which had five times the amount of food. He seemed confused and said that mine cost $3.40 something and not $5.50 like it said on the menu. By this point I was so over the situation that I just ate it, by which at this point it was cold and not very good. The grits had become a weird texture, similar to jello. The food was not even worth $3.40 something. WAY overpriced.
When we were given our checks I looked at mine and he had it written up as 2 eggs and a side of grits. Not what the menu had priced and not enough for it to be a meal option as they had it listed on the menu. They need to either get their prices right, or give the customer what they ordered. Anyways, after getting our checks, we were left sitting at the table waiting for our waiter to take our money. We waited a good 10 minutes before wondering why he wasn't coming over. We tried to flag him down - keep in mind this is a small restaurant and he can see us with no difficulty at all - multiple times, but again he never "saw" us. We were confused as to whether we were supposed to go to the cash register at the front that was hidden from view in the area we were sitting in. Finally we just decided to go see if we were supposed to go pay at the front. We were, which the waiter never told us.
I was not happy with this place and will never go back. The food is way overpriced, the staff is not friendly or helpful, the service is horrible, and the place was not that clean. I am not sure how people have had good experiences here but I will never recommend this place to anyone.
