A room at App-State during graduation week can be a daunting task if you wait to book as I did. Fortunately I found one of the last rooms at the Sleep Inn. The hotel is fraily new and shares the property with a La Quinta. Yes this week in Boone can be expensive but the Sleep Inn is clean, convenient and the beds are comfortable. Book early and you will not regret your stay here. The Sleep Inn is a bargain in an overpriced town on Boone.

Room Tip: Book early and eat out at the great restaurants in Boone. Rooms are quiet and clean.

I read quite a few enthusiastic reviews of this hotel and had a different experience in quite a few areas. The blurb that is handed out at the desk when you check in still offers a free gym facility which is no longer available for free (the La Quinta shared fitness room is still available but has just a few pieces - treadmill, cycle, elliptical - no wt. machines). The so-called "strawberries" for the waffles is only a red syrup. The room has no dresser - table and chairs only. The floor space at the foot of the beds is small and not too much easier for two people to navigate than the river cruise ship I was just on. There is no safe in the room. The towels are so flimsy that they are soaked instantly and it takes two of them to dry an average body. My room was in full view of the parking lot and yet the privacy curtains did not meet in the middle and stay closed. There was a towel under the table in my room when I arrived and it was still there when I left. The room was not vacuumed during my
stay.

Based on your comments, it appears that you did not further inquire with the front desk staff about our amenities, nor did you ask if we could assist you regarding any of the other issues that you mentioned. Our friendly and most helpful desk staff could have remeded most of these.
I hope that next time you are in Boone, you would consider staying with us again, and please let us know how we can make you more comfortable.
Sincerely,

Our family (mom, dad, 8yo and 7-month-old) spent a recent weekend in Boone, NC. We chose the Sleep Inn based solely on the info available online - previous reviews and the price. All in all, it was a great value. The hotel was clean, although you can tell it is starting to age. It is conveniently located at the intersection of Hwy 105 and Hwy 421, making it easy to get just about anywhere in the High Country. The continental breakfast was as expected - danish, english muffins, bagels, dry cereal, milk, fresh waffles (make-your-own), juice and coffee. Our room did seem a bit damp (probably because it was 90+ degrees outside and the AC was running really well) and the grout on the tiled bathroom floor was crumbling in places, but these things were easy to ignore. We had plenty of room to setup our youngest's pack-n-play in the room with 2 double beds. Having a mini-fridge and microwave in the room were also nice perks that proved useful during our stay. My only true complaint is really more of a whine. Since I knew our 8yo would want to go swimming, I had asked for extra towels during the online reservation and they confirmed that when I checked in, but we never did see those extra towels. We made due and I'm sure I could have called down to ask for them, but it wasn't *that* big of a deal.

First trip to Boone and we will return again! Sleep Inn was a pleasant stay, room was exceptionally clean, large/roomy and very accommodating. It was an adventure navigating in and out of the hotel area but we quickly adapted. Even though there were no restaurants close to the hotel, there was a local book on the table that gave us many options to choose from and the desk clerk also gave us a map of the area (which I used religiously during our visit for two days). We will definitely return for a visit and stay here. The breakfast was most excellent and the times it was open were great for late sleepers as well as early risers (6-10am).

Room Tip: Our room was on the 2nd floor right next to the elevators and it was not noisy at all!

Clean. Newer facility. Friendly staff. Good location. Quiet. Decent breakfast. WiFi. Beds were adequately comfortable. Can't ask for much more.

Only quibble: AC lacked a "constant on" fan mode which really helps mask noises.

Husband & I were staying over in Boone after riding The Snake out of Bristol. Boone was a perfect place for a break before hitting the Blue Ridge Parkway the next day. The Comfort Suites, where we had previously stayed, was full so I decided to try their newer sister hotel - Sleep Inn. We had a bit of trouble finding it as it sits up on a hill behind another motel (La Quinta) depending on the direction you are coming from. Someone told us to turn at the Subaru lot and that worked. It's very clean and comfortable. Check-in was quick and the person was most helpful. There is coffee in the lobby 24-7 and a suitable breakfast is included. Rooms were nicely furnished and the baths were granite and tile. The only downside was you had to get back on the road to dine as there are no restaurants adjacent to the property. Our room looked out on the busy road but w/ the A/C on you didn't hear the noise and we slept just fine. I would definitely make a return visit to this motel and recommend it.

It was hard to believe our room was in a 2 star franchise because it was beautifully decorated & spotlessly clean. Everything looked new. Decorated in French style with pickeled furniture & subdued colors, a granite topped table with pretty French chairs, it was a lovely room, with excellent quality linens & pillows [ no pilling ] & comfortable beds. The bathroom floor was tiled & had a granite sink & good quality towels. The bathroom also looked new.

The outdoor pool was out of order but we were told we could use the amenities at la Quinta, on the other side of the driveway, including their fitness & pool. Breakfast was better than average with waffles and whole strawberry syrup along with cereals & juices. The staff was friendly & helpful. The hotel is conveniently located close to town.

One negative is that one side of the hotel faces the highway which is very noisy. As long as the a/c is on, it covers the traffic noise but creates it own. Ask for a room facing La Quinta; it should be quieter.

Overall, we were very pleased with this Inn's high quality at a very reasonable price. We would recommend it to our firends.
