The check in/check out was fast, and the breakfast attendant was friendly. I would have liked to see fresh fruit on the breakfast bar, but other than that, we had a pleasant stay. As other reviewers have mentioned, our road-facing room was not noisy at all. This hotel was almost $100 less than comparable area hotels, some of which we've stayed at during previous trips, for our dates of travel. We'll definitely stay here again.

Kids wnted to visit Grandfather mountain and we wanted to see fall colors and just by chance I decided to stay in Boone and selected this hotel as the previous reviews were also good. This hotel is on a hill facing a road, a hill and a strip mall. But everything is far away and deep down so no noise and view is good. This is BW plus so it is sort of upgraded hotel. The entrance to this hotel and other adjacent hotel is from the side and is tricky. Do not blindly follow the GPS. When you reach this street look up for the sign and building, that will help you find the road. From the road facing the hotel, the intersection with traffic lights is on the right and that road goes to the hotel. Desk staff is friendly. Check in and out were easy and fast. Breakfast area and sitting area is good. Reasonable space. There is a heated pool and its functional. Rooms are good and clean. The A/C-heater was weird and made noise and gave burning smell but it worked. The bathroom was very clean, large (compared to other BWs) and new but it did not have exhaust fan or it was hidden somewhere and I did not see. Third floor rooms will give a better view (avoid the roof of the porch) that is in front of soom rooms. We would stay again and recommend this to others.

My son and I stayed here three nights while checking out Appalachian State. The location was great, the room was spacious and comfortable, and we had a lovely view.

The hotel is on a busy road--as are so many--but the building is situated high above the road on a rise and our room was on the third floor. We found it to be quiet and the room stayed dark at night (one of my pet peeves about so many hotels). The location was great--only a mile from the main Kings St shopping and restaurant area, but without the noise and traffic of other hotels on, say, 105.

We started each day fortified with the Continental breakfast, which was definitely better than most. They provided several protein options along with the standard waffles (whipped cream and fruit toppings a plus for my son), cereals, muffins, bagels and cream cheese, etc.

Didn't get in the pool, but it looked clean and being indoors meant it was an option even in the cool weather they have so often in Boone. We also saw but didn't use the workout facilities and game room.

Staff was sort of neutral. No one was unfriendly, but we didn't experience anyone who really stood out either.

It was a big football weekend, and after checking out the options, I feel we got the best value in town. Looking forward to staying here again.

Room Tip: We had a mountain-view, north-facing, third-floor room, and it was great. We were also fairly close...

After the Ramada yesterday, what a contrast!!
Great views from the front windows of the hotel, clean and comfortable rooms. Well appointed hotel generally.
Major road construction project at present in front of the hotel, but since it is located quite a height above the roadway, there is no problem with noise, but traffic is busy.
Front desk staff helpful: Suggested Pepper's Restuarant on Shadowline Drive for a meal. Excellent, would go there again.

We stayed at this Best Western for two nights. The room was clean, but like a lot of mid-level hotels, they use perfume in their cleaning solution and that is annoying. The window opens a little, so it is possible to get some fresh air.
The staff was very friendly and the breakfast is pretty good. There is an indoor pool, but no reclining chairs. A pretty good game room. An older analog TV was in the room. It is possible to walk to downtown Boone from this hotel as it is about a mile away. The price is competitive and I would stay here again.

This hotel is a gem. The staff were 1st class. We had a Fire Place room which was one of the best rooms we had on our vacation. We intend to return here again and stay longer. Stay here you will love it

Room Tip: Ask for a Fire Place Room at the front
