Great Family Vacation
The location of the cabin was amazing. It was very peaceful. going from busy south Florida to that was a dream. Also, what you see in the pictures is what you get. I hate it when a place looks amazing in the pictures and then you get there and its nothing like what you expected. The cabin was very clean and well kept. I stayed there with a few family members and we all loved it which is unbelievable since we usually cant agree on anything. No one wanted to leave when the week was over. We are definitely making this a family tradition. we cannot wait to go back.

Beautiful and serene getaway!
The cabin is very clean and spacious, with a lovely decor and stunning views! We had coffee on the porch every morning, looking out over the trees and listening to the birds. Evenings were spent in front of the fireplace with a glass of wine or a cup of cider. It was so relaxing. There is also plenty to do in the area. My husband and son enjoyed fishing, and we all enjoyed beautiful hikes every day. I highly recommend Bearfoot Hideaway!

Great cabin for family vacation, wonderful area
We spent a week in this adorable cabin in April, and while the weather was not always perfect, we had an awesome time both inside and outside the cabin as the property was very enjoyable. There was firewood for the firepit, which we enjoyed a few nights and the hot tub was pleasant after our day long hiking trips. We cooked in many nights and the kitchen was well stocked with almost everything we would need. The kids enjoyed the game room downstairs, while the adults were able to enjoy the decks, firepits and upstairs areas without kids underfoot. There is a lot to do in the area also. We are avid hikers, bicyclers and outdoor enthusiasts. The amount of rivers, ponds, lakes and waterfalls we visited are hard to count.

Good value and homey feel
This cabin is very nice, very comfortable feel. We had enough room for all the activities we planned (special celebration meals and outdoor time). We loved the firepit and some family members tried out the hot tub and enjoyed it. So overall a positive experience. The only negatives were too many instruction notes throughout the cabin (this is not a luxury accommodation to warrant this) and neighbors who do not like that the cabin is a rental and are borderline hostile. These 2 issues are not overwhelming, just annoying so I would still recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for a somewhat pleasant review. Although not a 'luxury accommodation' in your opinion, our cabin has all the amenities and comfort anyone would need to enjoy a family vacation in our breathtaking mountains. I do not understand an issue with 'instructions' as they are meant to provide for ease of use and safety in our home. As a guest, I would certainly prefer to see a sign how to navigate some idiosyncrasies of appliances or home features than to have to call the owner multiple times throughout the visit. I would also certainly appreciate signs telling me that there is coffee, sugar, salt, etc. left for my convenience, as well as thoughtfulness of the homeowner leaving bird seed, firewood and the like so I may have a great woodland experience. Examples of our signs: "WELCOME" "Friends gather here" "Welcome to our cabin" "Welcome friends" "wireless password: XXXX" "Please do not turn this light off as it controls the motion sensor and the stairs will be very dark when you return." "Open damper to the left, close it to the right. Please close it when you leave" "We leave coffee for your enjoyment, if you have any left, please leave it for the next guest" "Warning, only 6 foot clearance here" "Please turn dryer knob to here to turn on dryer" "We leave laundry detergent for you, if you have any left, please leave it for the next visitor" "Bird seed left for your bird watching enjoyment, please feel free to fill bird feeders" I believe a rating of 3 is very low considering the comfort and enjoyment experienced in our cabin. Most of our guests give us the highest rating possible, as they know the efforts we go to in order to make their visit to our cabin wonderful.
