This course may appear small but it is tough! A really good course and fun! The owners are sweet as well. Always a fun time!!

One of our favorite stops on our yearly vacations to Blowing Rock is Magic Mountain Mini Golf and Arcade in Boone. Our grandchildren are now 8 and 11 and look forward to a few rounds. The course is situated on the side of a high hill covered in trees which make it the only shaded mini golf I know. Though we always go in July, it is never uncomfortably hot. We have won several free games by getting hole-in-ones at the right time. It is always very exciting.

We enjoyed 18 holes of mini golf because everyone had a good time and it was a nice way to spend an afternoon. Our party included one set of parents, one set of grandparents, and three kids (19, 9, 6). The negatives were how similar many of the holes were and how they were mostly uphill. We knew that going in because of the name and the fact that you can see it's on a hill. However it meant that many of us had to hit the ball several times just to get near a hole. But we were all experiencing the same challenges so it evened out. :) We didn't Go into the arcade since I had read the reviews first. It's good to bring water or something because it got very hot while playing and there is only a soda machine inside the arcade.
Be warned though that they only accept cash & checks. No credit cards! They have an ATM if you need cash but who likes to pay a fee?!

We would return because again it was a fun way to spend an afternoon. :)

Staff is always nice, the course clean and swept. The hills can present some challenges with balls rolling down the hills, but not a huge problem. The course is open late at night, so if it is hot you don't have to go in the worst part of the day. You can often get a free game at the hole in one hole. The arcade is kind of an add on, and dated a bit, but my little boy still loves it and he can play 25 cent skee ball!

My family loves to find a "putt putt" place when on vacation. This one was very pretty and affordable and we all had a great time. The holes all seemed to be a work in progress, or not very well thought out, but for the price it was fine. If we were to go back to Boone I am sure we'd go back to Magic Mountain. I (the mom) loved the plantings around course!
