After reading some of the recent service reviews, we were a little wary, but had to try this charming pub in the middle of such a great little town. We certainly are glad we did! Not only is the service amazing, but the food is outstanding - including the best lightly-battered fried pickles ever! They have an awesome variety of brews, plus the knowledgeable and friendly manager and her staff were a terrific help with suggestions. In fact, we felt they truly went out of their way at every interaction to make it a unique and memorable part of our trip. We left feeling like locals, and will go back every time we are in town. Six Pence definitely hits the mark...and it's also a great place to watch the snow!

We're long time visitors to the Six Pence and have tried just about everything on the menu. The last two times have been disappointing as we strayed from the usual fish and chips. The pot roast is a good, but it is a hit or miss entree ... sometimes you'll receive a mountain of food, other times you have to fish for the meat under the cooked veggies. The last visit I opted to try the pork chops; the menu said 'grilled'. What arrived were two thin slices of chops that smelled slightly of fish. Closer inspection revealed the two chops were, in fact, deep fried in the same oil as the fish and chips. When I asked the server she replied that the chops always are fried that way. I'll be sticking with the fish and chips when we decide to return.

Service was pretty good but did have some delays. Don't expect much more than pub food - but it was GOOD pub food. Cozy atmosphere. Much like a true English pub.

It was Valentines Day, we had no reservation as this was a spontaneous trip, but we had no wait, they found us a table right away. Awesome.

the food was tasty, but my husband and I just had sandwiches and 1 beer each, and our bill was almost $30
