“Gem along Blue Ridge Parkway”

This Select Registry member lives up my expectations of what a luxury bed and breakfast should be. We stayed in the Sunrise suite which had its own private porch that offered us wonderful mountain views and, of course, a great vantage point to see the sunrise. The suite was spacious and comfortable stocked with nice amenities. The porch is a great place to enjoy a glass of wine, try some hor d'oeuvres and meet other guests. The comfy furniture and views make it a very relaxing place to rest. We ended up having dinner at the restaurant and celebrating late with two other couples staying at the inn. The food was good and service was excellent. I appreciated having the restaurant on site after a long day driving and seeing the sights. The inn provides lovely outdoor views to dine by on the porch. The common areas are cozy and give you a real "make yourself at home" feeling. The inn is pet friendly. I highly recommend Gideon Ridge and would love to stay there again!

We've stayed at the Inn many times over the years. Sitting on the back porch of the Inn in overstuffed chairs with a cool, delicious breeze blowing through as you gaze at the setting sun over the mountains, you feel the cares of the world you left behind drain away. This is always our experience here and it's remarkable. The rooms are cozy and clean. The staff is attentive without being intrusive. Restaurant G is special!

Our three night stay was excellent. The views of the mountains were outstanding and we especially liked our room and private patio. The staff were well trained, friendly and very accommodating. The town of Blowing Rock is only minutes away and this is a good location to explore other areas in the High Country. Would highly recommend and plan to return again in October.

Room Tip: Suites are delightful and have wonderful views

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend in Blowing Rock and found Gideon Ridge to offer the perfect accommodations. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are lovely and comfortable. The decorations are not overdone like so many other B&B's. The breakfasts are delicious and the portion sizes are perfect. The overall atmosphere is quiet and relaxing with amazing views of the surrounding beauty.

We had a wonderful time at Gideon Ridge Inn. The rooms are so comfortable with chairs and lamps in the right spots for reading in front of the fireplace. The bedding is soft and oh so comfortable. Cookies in your room every night. Great views of the mountains from your room and all public areas. Beautifully landscaped. Don't forget to dine at G. Terrific dinner menu - after having dinner there one night, we cancelled our reservation at another restaurant and dinned again at G.

Room Tip: We stayed in The Colonial. Very comfortable and inviting. There is a nice slate/stone patio with...

I found Gideon Ridge on Tripadvisor and boy am I glad I did. The staff, the food, the views, and the amenities are unmatched by just about anywhere I had ever stayed before. You cannot appreciate the views and the coziness of this bed and breakfast until you go. This was our first time there but it will not be our last.

We just got home tonight and I wanted to write this review while the memories were still fresh in my mind. Gideon Ridge is as good as the reviews say. The inn is a few minutes drive from downtown Blowing Rock with great views of the beautiful countryside. The place has all the amenities and sense of elegance you would want. There is a media room with large screen TV, DVD player, and a pool table. In addition there is a very pleasant common sitting area/library, perfect for reading, having afternoon tea, or talking to fellow guests. Our room surpassed all our expectations for cleanliness, comfort, and amenities. Breakfast is a sit down and order off the menu affair. We ate dinner there one of the nights. Both the breakfasts and our dinner were excellent-ample quantities of well prepared and very tasty dishes. As good as any of the restaurants we have found in the area. The staff was uniformly pleasant and anxious to help you. All in all an outstanding experience. We look forward to our next visit there
