Description: Big Flavors - Casual Dining. The New Public House restaurant offers reasonably priced, delicious favorites in a relaxed, comfortable, and exciting environment. The New food concept was created by-renowned chef Michael Foreman. He supports local purveyors, regional flavors and offers a "NC farm to table" experience. The restaurant's bar is available for meeting friends and enjoying a drink or a meal in more casual setting. Offerings include our small plates specialties, as well as local NC beers; great wines by the glass and exotic, specialty cocktails by our own mixologist

We decided to try the New Public House as it was a new restaurant in town. Also being a Tuesday, we tried Bistro Roca first but it was closed. The atmosphere looks comfy and nice.

Our server was really great. Attentive but not rushing us. Loved that we got to taste a sample of the wine to see if that's what we wanted.

Calamari appetizer was fabulous! Dessert was great - banana split.

Just what we needed on wet grey morning. Very helpful and quick service. Liked the grits and sausages especially.

We went there as part of a package-during the wine and food festival and had pairings of wine and food. The food served was very unique and well done-(tasted excellent). There were several courses and couldn't finish it all….but managed dessert which was an awesome apple crumble with goat cheese.

We found the restaurant to our liking. The setting is an old home probably seats about 70. It is not a true tapas style but they do offer full and half portions. Like their two sister restaurants much of the produce is from local producers.. We each ordered a half portion of salad. Both were plenty and well prepared. I had the steak and my wife the pork loin. Both were good. The steak is served in a small skillet still sizzling so I recommend to order cooked at one less than you normally prefer as the steak is still cooking. I ordered medium and it didn't take long for the steak to pass the pink stage.

The wine list was adequate (important for us) and better than average with high and low end wines. We had the 2012 Roar Pinot Noir. My wife likes soft wines and this one was perfect. Will is either the manager or one of the owners. He was helpful with the wine. We would return.

At there for a wine paring dinner during the Blue Ridge Wine Festival. The chef chose the best dishes - Quail, brisket, lamb and coast fish. He paired these meats with great veggies and a special homemade potato salad. Dessert was a decadent cobbler with buttermilk ice cream..yum..yum...Service staff was excellent - atmosphere was most charming.
