“Ghost Train 10/21/2012”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

We went to the Ghost Train. The weather was good, but cold, and the crowds were handled well. The atmosphere is the most incredible thing about Ghost Train. They put a ton of effort into the music, creepy characters who walk around the park, and entertainment for those waiting in line. We even danced a few songs with the "Spice Ghouls." The Freaky Forest was actually much scarier than the Haunted House this year. The haunted house consisted largely of hallways, with only a couple of spooky scenes in between. The best was the entrance, (*spoiler) through the fireplace. That was very neat. As for the Freaky Forest, it was dark with many creatures lurking in the shadows to give you spooks. We were lucky to have missed the "chainsaw," which we heard start up a few minutes after we had made it out. The Ghost Train itself was interesting, but the audio was unclear for a few of the story lines. We had to wait three train cycles to board, which wasn't all and all too bad. They had lots of fog, which added to a creepy effect on the train, and some characters on the train with you. All in all, I loved Ghost Train and will be back next year. I do wish they would open up the chairlifts and top of the mountain during Ghost Train. To me, that would have made the difference between rating it a 5 instead of a 4.

“Family Place”

I took my grandkids every year until they got older. They loved " The day with Thomas". Great place, I remember going when I was a child. There's alot more things to do there than just the train ride.

“GREAT Place for Little Tikes”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

We had the best time here at the Tweetsie Railroad with our two 4-year old twin grandsons. It's totally geared to the younger kids with lots to do, great entertainment, pleanty of food and drinks to satisfy everyone. We especially enjoyed the Train Ride and the Animal Petting where you can pet and feed deer, lamas, emus, goats, along with a variety of other animals. All in all a really nice place for families with young children.

“Ghost Train too crowded - huge disappointment!”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

Went up to Boone specifically to ride the Ghost Train. Our group stood on line in the cold for nearly 2 hours. At one point the train came back and sat idle for nearly 30 minutes. After watching 4 trains come and go, and still not making it on to the train, we had enough standing in the cold, so we left. It was nearly 11 pm and the boarding area was still packed with people waiting to get on the train. What a waste of our time and money! The park should consider offering tickets with specific ride times to avoid the ridiculous crowds having to wait for the one train that goes around the park. After spending that night in our expensive hotel rooms, we took a very disappointed group of kids back home.

Tweetsie is a wonderful family place for entertainment. It is a great deal of fun for kids and parents alike. My favorite part is the actual train ride. I could ride on it all day long---so much fun!!
