We only went here because it was a free special our hotel threw in. They had a special exhibit of musical instruments which was cool. But with. 1, 3, and 8 yr old, it was hard to enjoy. The rest was all paintings.

“A Little Gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2013

I attended a recent exhibit at this wonderful museum. There were three shows of women artists, Massachusetts subjects, and Americans in Paris, including a drawing by John Singer Sargent. It was just enough culture for a diversion from a mountain vacation. It was not crowded. They have a docent who gives a guided tour or you can wander around yourself. The tiny cost ($8) was well worth it and the building itself is gorgeous. I overheard the docent say they have 3 different exhibits each year. I hate to think I will miss the next one!

“Very well done, especially the artist in residence”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2013

We enjoyed the paintings as well as the musical instruments that were on display. The highlight was next door where there was an artist in residence who was very willing to talk about how he learned to paint, how he goes about the process, and even told us the stories behind many of his paintings that were on display. Well worth the small admission price ($8) and very enjoyable.

“Not bad for a one street town.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2013 via mobile

Bumped into this place, as the rest of my party was visiting many of the small shops along the main street. I found the museum to be very well laid out, and the staff went out of their way to introduce themselves and point me in the right direction throughout my visit. A hidden gem that is well worth the visit.

“Lovely!”

Many beautiful things in a smaller setting. Very well maintained with a friendly staff. One corny video that attempted to provide local color. Otherwise, elegant and well done.
