There will always be people who knit pick. I thought this hotel was very nice. We only payed $90 a night and it was well worth it. Continental Breakfast had bacon scrambled eggs and sausage and gravy biscuits! The beds were very comfortable and sheets and blankets were super soft. I am very picky and a clean freak and was very happy with the room. It's not a Hilton so you can't expect immaculate! Only complaint is about another guest who wanted an employee to ask my husband to eat in the room, because "his tattoos were scaring her children." The employee did not ask, my husband just overheard and did it on his own. She must not have gotten the memo saying our money spends the same as hers! Other than the closed minded, discrimatory guest this stay was wonderful!

Nice Hotel, Centrally located to Blowing Rock activities and close to Boone without all the traffic congestion in Boone. Nice breakfast layout. Quiet rooms. Easy access to rooms in front and back of hotel.

Stayed here on Monday July 2. The hotel was full. The rooms were nice and clean. We were on the second floor and the doors opened to the hallway. The room was similar to Hampton Inns that I've stayed at in the past. The breakfast was good also with a good selection - cereal, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, pastries, pancakes, bagels and English muffins.

The downside was the pool and the towels in the room. The pool was small and crowded. We only stayed about 20 minutes before we left. When we got back to get showers, there were only three towels in a room with four people. Guest services said that they would not have more clean towels until 9:00 the next morning.

Other than that the stay was nice and quiet. I paid $94 including all taxes.

Needed an overnight stay before starting on the Blueridge Parkway. Nice little hotel close to shopping areas and attractions (able to buy Grandfather Mountain tickets at the desk). Easy check in, helpful staff, very clean and big rooms. Requested king size bed with pull out couch for the extra room since travel with 2 teenagers who like 2 inflatable double matresses instead of sharing a room with small double beds for all of us.. Room was extra large in more of an L shape so their seating area/ living area was seperate from ours without paying the extra cost.
Free breakfast was hot with good variety. Friendly Staff. Since just staying overnight we decided to save the money over more expensive hotels in area. Very pleasantly surprised!

Room Tip: Ask for room away from highway. Big trucks traveling down highway be heard in the room but not cars...

Was here due to a wedding. Met and exceeded expectation for commerical property. It sits between the two road entrances to Main Street, town of Blowing Rock. Very close to Blue Ridge Parkway entrance - Boone a 10 minute drive. Very clean and I thought nicely appointed for chain property. Breakfast fine. Front desk staff very helpful. Good value.

We are typically B&B people and are adverse to staying in hotels/motels, but we were pleasantly surprised by the Holiday In Express in Blowing Rock. Our room was very large, very clean, and very accommodating (had small fridge and microwave, coffee maker, ironing board, hair dryer, etc). The staff were very friendly, and the free breakfast was great.

Just stayed here last week. We booked a room based on reviews...one which said this was a new hotel-not exactly accurate. It may be a new Holiday Inn Express location...but the building itself was not new (seemed to just be remodeled in the lovely decor typical of H. Inn Express) thus the rooms were the smallest of any Holiday Inn Express locations I have stayed at (6 at this point)- for 3 people with 2 queen beds it felt pretty tight. We had nice firm beds, a micro and small fridge. Bathroom was very small, but nice. Lobby was nicely decorated as well as the breakfast area. Rooms were clean and quiet.

Location: on 321 by-pass convenient to downtown; the road is currently under construction so ask for a room facing back of hotel. We did this and could not hear the work going on to widen the road.

Biggest complaint: Pool area: looked all over and could not find a sign directing me to the pool. Pool area was older, dull & had nothing special or pretty about it; was small and had limited evening hours. It would have been nice to have adult hours after 9 PM...too small to swim with kids in pool- a bummer after looking forward to an evening swim and having to forgo it due to a pool full of children, sweet, but not when you want a quiet swim and want to swim...which there was no room to do. Recently stayed at a hotel with later hours reserved for adults only--great idea!

Overall...clean, quiet (on back side), nice decor, late checkout accommodation. Biggest negative was size of room and previously mentioned pool comments. Would stay here again other than these 2 issues.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms on backside due to road construction in front of hotel.
