This was one of the nicest inns of our three week trip. It is the most attractive in town, inside and out. Very comfortable. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. And great beer across the street. Easy walking distance to shops. We would love to stay there again.

We returned to the Inn, expecting to experience a lovely setting with attention given to our comfort. We were not disappointed. This time we stayed in Willowbough. It is on the second floor, has its own sitting room with gas fire, and a balcony overlooking the front area adjoining the street. It was a gray weekend, with some drizzle - and for us, that is perfect retreat weather. We have been to Blowing Rock many, many times. Our routine includes window shopping, stops at Kilwin's for ice cream and fudge, walks around the little lake and driving excursions. But since we both like to read, we really enjoy a comfortable room that has chairs for us both to settle in and experience relaxation and peace. Ragged Garden supplies it in spades. You can stay in your room or go down to the common area and chat with other guests. The breakfasts are filling and delicious. Don't hesitate to book a room here. I know you will enjoy your time.

This is our third visit here....we enjoy spending New Year's Eve as a getaway from nearby. Love the town and driving the back mtn roads and Mast General Store and others ....always an adventure. The Inn has always been great....we stayed in the Tree House this time but have stayed in Japanese Maple room before. Service great. Private on site parking. Includes wine and appetizers from 5 to 6....also very nice complimentary breakfast in The Best Cellar. We had New Year's Eve dinner in Best Cellar which was also great. Great food....great service....

Room Tip: Tree House or Japanese Maple

This is our second stay. The inn is beautiful and perfectly located. The staff is gracious and welcoming. Both times we've stayed at the Inn, we've met other guests who were back for another stay - some have been coming for many years. It's that kind of place.

My husband and I stayed at the Ragged Garden Inn for 3 nights in September 2013. It was a special vacation for us so we rented the Tree House suite. It was perfect the first two nights but on the third night we got almost no sleep due to a loud buzzing noise coming from the vicinity of the bathroom. We reported it the next morning and never received an explanation or even the mildest apology. We were told that the manager would contact us but we did not hear from her. My husband tried calling once and sent a couple of emails. Very disappointing because we loved the room but we are reluctant to go back because of the poor followup. Plus we hate to think of paying almost $300 per night for a room too noisy for sleep! The Best Cellar restaurant inside the Inn was truly awful. Maybe beef eaters would disagree but I found nothing on the menu that was appealing. The dish I ordered was all but in edible. Very expensive drink menu. Overall was sadly disappointed.

Nice and peaceful place to spend a night ... Pleasant personnel and discrete and good service. Only negative aspect would be breakfast time that finished too early. Not much room for a lie in and chilling out 100%.

Our visit to the Inn at Ragged Gardens was rather "spur of the moment" after having to cancel another scheduled trip. We were very pleased with the accomodations and the ambiance here. We chose the English Rose Suite and really loved the "double fireplace." We enjoyed chatting with other guests during the wine & hor d' oeuvre hour. Breakfast was delicious and the presentation first class. Would recommend and hope to visit again when in charming Blowing Rock!
