“Nice location and friendly service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2013

Great outdoor seating, but it is best to make a reservation. We were walk-ins and decided not to wait for an outdoor table so were seated inside. Prompt and friendly service. I had the crab cakes, but in my opinion they had too much filler. My wife had the shrimp salad - served with jumbo shrimp but not as tasty as it was pretty to look at. A friend had the turkey sandwich and thought it very good.

“Fresh and Delicious”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2013

Was there with a group of 6 for lunch and I had a small cup of Wild Mushroom soup and Greek Chicken Salad Sandwich. It was so flavorful and delicious. I could have taken a whole pot of that soup home with me! The bread is made fresh at the restaurant and is amazing. Everyone in our party raved about their meals.

“Perfect Brunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

Our party of eight had a lovely brunch at The Village Cafe which is tucked away behind Main Street. Annie, the owner, welcomed us with a friendly smile despite her crutches. We enjoyed omelets, waffles, eggs with toasted Portugese Fugasa bread, crepes with turkey and Swiss, and the special, a crabcake on an English muffin topped with a poached egg and Hollandaise sauce. Everything arrived promptly and was delicious. Plates were garnished with fresh fruit. Annie checked to make sure that were happy. There are lovely gardens outside as well as seating when weather permits. Also there is parking accessed from a tiny street one block down Sunset from Main Street. You can't go wrong if you would like a delicious meal in a beautiful setting in Blowing Rock!

“Quaint, delicious.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2013

We had a late lunch here on a Sunday. My husband had brunch and I had lunch. The menu offered something for everyone and the specials were unique and interesting. Our food was delicious, portions are not huge, but just enough. We were full when we left, which is ideal rather than being miserable from an oversize meal. We were seated on the outdoors in a lovely arboretum-like setting. Service also excellent. I would highly recommend.

“Sophisticated and bland”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2013

We looked forward to the meal based on ratings and the menu. We were disappointed to find the food, while generally good and well prepared, too bland for our tastes. The dishes sound so delicious on the menu but failed to live up to the description. Boring, bland.
