Black Mountain is so fortunate to have this entertainment venue. Jazz, blue grass, classical, any kind of music a person is looking for, will be playing here on a regular basis. The musicians are outstanding.

The facility is beautiful and its clearly designed for optimal music listening. It is a small facility with limited parking nearby. I think the event I attended was over-booked because we had to stand the entire time on concrete flooring which was far from comfortable. Despite that, the music was still amazing in this space. The variety of beers was limited, but good quality. Enjoyable spot.

Owners are extremely knowledgeable about music and about sound, and have created a wonderful space for intimate listening. They take great care in booking a variety of acts, and are also very committed to "giving back" by hosting wonderful benefits.

I have visited the White Horse probably a dozen times in the last few years. It is primarily a performance site in what once was an automotive repair shop. Now with a stage and table seating, it provides a nice venue for a wide range of acts, from great country and western, bluegrass, jazz, rock, classical, and Celtic. Credit must be given to the owners/mangers who book a wonderfully eclectic range of performers. By the way, they are very friendly and usually on site for performances. Take a moment to look in the ticketing area at the display of gold and platinum records which the owners acquired when they managed some very well-known acts.

The bar (no food, but there are eateries in the area and food can be brought in, in many cases) offers a good range of local and national brews and wines. Overall, the atmosphere is very laid back; the audience is close to the stage; the sound system is good. During hot, hot days or evenings, the interior can get warm, but there is often some limited outside seating where the music can be heard, if views of the stage are a bit restricted. Usually there is plenty of free parking beside the venue or across the street. It is handicapped accessible

I recommend checking the White Horse website to see the performance schedule.
