A bit pricey for the experience. Nice staff. Average food. A nice night out in a small nc mountain town. Take the extra 15 minutes to go to Asheville for top notch dining.

We stayed in a B & B called Inn around the corner in Black Mountain and the innkeeper recommended Que Sera. I would never have chosen it from the exterior. Once inside you can tell its a cut above. The staff are welcoming and professional. It is relatively small but for me that is a big positive. We went there on a Wednesday so it was not crowded but seemed to be a popular place among the locals. Many arrivals were greeted by name. I had the oyster appetizer called 2-2-2 because they are prepared 3 different ways. It was very good. Also enjoyed the salad, whose name I can't recalled but with mixed greens, goat cheese, strawberries etc. For dessert the bread pudding. Everything was made with a touch of class and the flavors were delightful. The chef came out of the kitchen several times to visit among the guests. Que Sera is a jewel in the mountains!

But really only so-so. It's not an eye-catcher from the street so you have to find it though TripAdvisor or Yelp. The food I had was OK but not THAT good. It was a Friday night and was full of patrons. We were all shouting at each other, mainly saying "What?" And it is very small. Outside was too hot for our visit.

We found this restaurant because of reviews on the internet. Had had some wonderful BBQ the night before but wanted a nicer atmosphere and to be served. We didn't have reservations but were fortunate to get seated before they quickly filled up on a Tuesday evening! We started with squash blossoms stuffed with goat cheese and a mint jelly sauce as well as the fried oysters- cooked to perfection! For our main course, my husband had the stuffed flounder with a creole sauce and I had the jumbo fried shrimp. Both were cooked perfectly with moist meat. The only let down was the below average coleslaw. Chocolate peanut butter pie finished off the meal. It was just the right size to share. If we find ourselves back in the area- we will be sure to go again!

My wife and I "stumbled" upon this place while on vacation in Black Mountain. We were browsing around "The Wine Market" in town looking for some beer or wine to take back to our room and struck up a conversation with the owner, Scott. He highly recommended we try Que Sera for dinner. We did, and were not disappointed. Everything was so fresh and prepared just right. The service was excellent. The food was delicious.
The restaurant is very unpretentious, located in an average looking strip center just a couple blocks outside of "downtown".
This is not a "cheap eats" place. Entrees are mostly in the $20's but the experience was worth a few extra dollars.
Highly recommended.
