“Glad we found this through the internet”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2011

Two of us were coming from opposite directions, meeting to go horseback riding near Benson. We could have wound up with fast food for lunch right off the interstate had we not been able to search for a better alternative. And TripAdvisor reviews are always one of our first stops, so we'll take the time to add to the information.

This is a small main street cafe with exactly the ambiance described -- not updated or glitzy, but very comfortable with a real mix of guests coming through the door, from those sitting by themselves and reading a book, to business people, to seniors, to groups of friends.

Their special plates were so attractive and reasonably priced that it was almost hard for one of us to settle for a cheeseburger, but when it came, it was real meat and a real patty. But the collards, baked beans and chicken salad on one of the special plates were outstanding as well. So it's doubtful you can go wrong in ordering here.

“Classic Small town Main St. Diner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 18, 2011

Located right in the middle of main street in downtown Benson, they have 2 tables out front on the sidewalk - best seats in the house! Don't expect health food here; but do expect friendly people. The hamburger (home made patties) was under two bucks and tasty.Fried shrimp with fries at only six bucks. Next time I'm in Benson, I'm stopping off at Miss Maudes.
