I was there due to Hurricane Sandy. Stranded in Charlotte for who knows how long. We knew we needed a hotel room asap. Booked this hotel through Priority Club.com. A shuttle picks you up and drops you off at the airport. It's complimentary. It does take a while to get picked up. The hotel is not super close maybe 10 - 15 minutes away.
The hotel was clean and the girls at the desk were super nice. We didn't have luggage since the airlines couldn't find it. So we had nothing. They gave us toothpaste, toothbrush, shaving cream etc. ]
Joey was the shuttle driver and suggested we go into Belmont and eat at Sammy's. Belmont is a beautiful town. The restaurant was amazing and the food was great. Get the deep fried pickles. Trust me.
Great place to be stranded.

We spent one night here before catching a very early flight out of Charlotte. The staff was pleasant and efficient and the room was a standard HIX room. One odd note is the way the bathroom doors are configured. In order to turn on the light in the bathroom, you have to go in, squeeze up next to the toilet and CLOSE THE DOOR before you can get to the light switch which is behind the door. Very odd and not at all convenient. Breakfast was standard with an attendant who kept a sharp eye for needed refills. We would stay here again for a one nighter because of the proximity to the airport.

Stayed here three nights, one day in between, so two different rooms. First room is sort of unmemorable, but second was executive suite, reserved specifically to allow me and colleague to get work done. Although there is only one chair, there is a small sofa, which was comfortable (though old and somewhat saggy looking). Room was large enough to feel comfortable with two of us working. Internet worked fine during second stay. Got hung up once during first stay (wireless signal fine, but Internet access coming into hotel needed to be reset). Note that they may reset the access code in the middle of Sundaynight, so you'll have to find out the new code. Breakfast was ordinary, but fine. Fitness room is not great. Two treadmills and an elliptical, all working, but no room for floor exercise, no balls, weights, etc. Cool, though, so that is nice. Nearest restaurants are fast food, but it's only about two miles to downtown Belmont where there is a pub that is very inexpensive, decent food, friendly service. Grocery store and large discount store nearby. Fridge in room froze my apples and pop, no way to set the temperature, so beware.

This hotel was ok, but was showing some age. The room was good, but the faucets were loose in the bathroom. The AC worked in bursts - either full on or completely off, and usually had a large bang when turning on or off. It was hard to maintain a consistent temperature in the room. The complementary breakfast was ok, but not as good as some of the other properties in this chain. The biggest drawback to this hotel is that there are no restaurants within walking distance, and the closest eating establishments are a collection of fast food restaurants. The front desk staff did not even know where the fast food restaurants were, and could not offer any assistance with finding some place to eat.

From the moment you pull into the driveway, you know this is not your typical HIE - - the setting is like an enchanged forest. And it only gets better. The lobby was beautifully done, the front desk clerk was friendly and efficient, and the smell . . .!! This HIE hosts a manager's reception with a lite meal, beer, wine, and soda. The night I arrived the entree was smothered hamburger steak and it smelled like walking into Grandma's kitchen.

My room was spacious, well-lit, and spotlessly clean. Plenty of electrical outlets, good air conditioning, and excellent internet connection - - all evening!!

And it still didn't stop there! The shuttle ride to the airport the next morning was a pure pleasure. The driver was courteous, well-educated, and willing to engage in conversation - - only after I initiated it. We had a great visit and I was honestly sorry to arrive at the airport so quickly.

Please, do yourself a favor and add this great hotel to your itinerary. I promise you won't be disappointed.
