Good food, Great service, reasonable prices, a fine family restaurant. Good seafood and the baked potatoes were great. Worth a visit.

Clawson's is our favorite Beaufort restaurant. Leece, my accomplice in life, likes the decor, which relies on wood and brick walls tastefully appointed with antique/antiqued doodads. The restaurant was originally a bakery and grocery store.

We have been there several times; waitstaff has always been courteous and attentive without being intrusive. We particularly like the grilled mahi (dolphin) salad. The mahi tastes good enough that we assume that it is locally caught. The cilantro citrus dressing is top-notch, with nice mix of aromatic cilantro balanced by a mild citrus bite. We'd also recommend the Crispy Shrimp Alfredo and the clam chowder. The clam chowder is particularly good on a cold, blustery day. And ... oh yeah ... the Seafood Bisque, yep, that's a really good one, too. You could spend quite a bit of time in Decisional Crisis studying the menu.

We have always been there for lunch, never for dinner.

Up in the very front, there is a kind of bay window/alcove which holds a couple of tables. From these, you can see some of the activity on the Beaufort waterfront.

After our meal, we like to take a walk along the Beaufort waterfront and look at the boats - yachts, actually - and sometimes get an ice cream or pay a quick drop-in visit to the Maritime Museum.

I ordered the fried oysters for lunch. They were super! Prepared perfectly. Also, good selection of NC brews.

We have eaten here many times in the past. I have taken many friends here and never been disappointed. Whether it's a beer and burger and a seafood dinner, they always come through.
Nice family atmosphere if the kids are along of good place for a dinner for two.
It's one of a few places I always try to get to when I am at the beach.

Visited Beaufort while vacationing at Emerald Isle. A local recommended clawson's and we couldn't agree more! The entire family enjoyed their meals but most of all were blown away by our server, Resa...the absolute best service we've had in a long time! She was precise in her knowledge of the menu and craft beer selection, and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend this place...and I never write reviews!
