The Captain had a great personality and gave you all kinds of fun facts about the area including showing you where Black Beard lived and why most houses were painted white. Interesting explanation of how Carrot Island got its name. We didn't see any horses, but that is not for lack of continually trying. Just hiding that day staying cool. We live in the area, but thoroughly enjoyed the slow and engaging ride.

Captain Bob gives an informative and amusing tour of Beaufort's harbor and Carrot Island. The price is right and it will only take an hour out of your day. Don't miss this!

We had Capt. Peggy for the tour. She is very knowledgeable of the area and made some interesting points. We were lucky that a group of Carrot Island horses were close to shore. Capt. Peggy made sure we got as close as possible for a close up view. She pointed out her favorite couple.

We had an excellent guide/captain -- and he did a great job of explaining what we were seeing... in a friendly, entertaining way. It didn't seem like a "canned" presentation... instead it was like he was just chatting with us while he explained the sights. It was worth more than the small fee we paid.

We did the harbor tour ($15 each) and it just went around the small harbor. We could have seen everything from the shore just the same. We did see three horses on the shore but didn't get too close. I would say opt for the larger tours.
