“Waterbug and Wild Horses were great!”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

We took the tour with friends who were visiting and we had a great time. Our tour guide was terrific and even extended the trip a little longer to get a great view of the wild horses on Carrot Island. He went out of his way to make sure we all got a great view and we all loved it!

“Waterbug Tours...a fun, informative and relaxing tour”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

Be sure to take this Waterbug tour when visiting Beaufort, NC for a ride you (and your kids) won't forget. This tour with Capt. Bob shows you Beaufort from a different perspective -- the water. After a busy day just walking or biking around town, this is a perfect change. While each day is different, there's a good chance you'll see the wild horses on the shoreline and perhaps a dolphin or two. Of course, you can get picture perfect view of the beautiful Beaufort waterfront and charming houses. And Capt Bob will answer all your questions and give you the benefit of his knowledge about the area.

“One of the best!”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

We love water tours and Waterbug is one of the best we've ever taken. Captain Bob's knowledge and enthusiasm for this beautiful part of the coast is contagious. We were treated to wild ponies (and their live on the islands in the area), dolphins, and an introduction to both the history of Beaufort and the ecosystem of a tidal basin. The island we focused on had been the home of Rachel Carson while she was doing the research for "Silent Spring" the book that kick started the environmental movement in this country and which was responsible for saving the pelicans from extinction. Gregarious, friendly, funny, and knowledgeable, Captain Bob communicates his passion for this area to all his passengers.

“a highlight of our trip”
Reviewed April 29, 2013

Last week I visited Beaufort, NC, which is a beautiful, friendly town. There is a lot to do there, but our favorite was taking a waterfront tour with "Captain Bob" on the Waterbug. It was great just to be out on the water, but Bob made it extra special, teaching us about the local flora and fauna, slowing down several times so we could get up-close pictures of the beautiful wild ponies, and generally making us feel very welcome, comfortable, and safe aboard his vessel. I would recommend it to anyone!

“Wild ponies”
Reviewed April 29, 2013

This is the best 45 - 60 minute excursion you will ever take! Captain Bob's Water Bug cruises the water around Carrot Island, where you will see the wild ponies. In addition you will hear so much history about Historic Beaufort. This is our third trip with Captain Bob and each time I learn something new!
