Last July I took my family from Fl and SC on the Waterbug. It was the high point of their vacation. Captain was very knowledgable about the horses and wildlife. We will go again!!

“Beautiful, Relaxing, Informative”
Reviewed February 10, 2012

We always wanted to see Beaufort from the water. This is the perfect way to do it. The boat is shaded and really comfortable on a hot summer day. Very interesting to hear about the history of the town and the local wildlife. We'll do it again.

“Must do while in Beaufort”
Reviewed June 25, 2011

The very first thing we did while visiting Beaufort. Walking the streets of Beaufort is wonderful, but the harbor tour is the best. On the water wih the dolphins and seeing and hearing about the wild horses.....priceless.

“Pleasant excursion but not that informative”
Reviewed September 11, 2010

We have taken many tours of historic areas and have always enjoyed the insider info and stories that they offer. If that's what you are hoping for, this is not the tour for you. The positives---it was a beautiful day and we enjoyed the opportunity to be out on the water, not just looking at it from shore. We did get to see 2 of the wild horses fairly close and learned that these are the "wildest" of the wild horses in the US, as they have no human intervention whatsoever---no roundups, medical attention, feeding etc. We also enjoyed the view of the historic Beaufort waterfront from the vantage point of the bay. But other than one story about Fort Macon in the distance, that was pretty much it. We really did not go very far, just cruised the short distance of the town waterfront, and did not hear any real interesting stories about the history of the town, the houses, etc. I think for the $15 price you really should get a better tour.

“Great time, fun and affordable!”
Reviewed May 26, 2010

I took the Waterbug tour around the city of Beaufort and Carrot Island, and it was one of the high points of my visit to the Crystal Coast! The city of Beaufort is quite fascinating and it was fun to see the old homes and learn more about the history of the area. I saw several wild ponies and other animals close up, and really enjoyed learning about the animals and their habitat. The Waterbug tour was educational, fun, and very affordable - I highly recommend it!
