Our first experience at Aqua left us in awe. This is a tapas style restaurant if you have never had the pleasure of eating here before. The menu lists the ingredients used in each dish, but nothing and I mean nothing, can describe the taste sensations you will experience. The Crab Rangoon Gratin is excellent. It is very rich and can easily serve 3 people. Just when your palate tastes the sweetness of the cheese, the peppers kick in. The Jicama and Tomatillo slaw withe the Local Catch Tostada was to die for. The stone ground grits in the Shrimp and Grits was creamy and firm. Shrimp was done perfectly. This is not the traditional South Carolina recipe dripping in butter. Most excellent! The biggest OMG moment was the Creme Brulee. Folks I am here to tell you that if you ever had a "tastes like more" experience with Creme Brulee elsewhere.. prepare yourself !. They serve theirs in a serving dish here. Literally. The chef (Tracy Livingston) has done a superb job creating this menu and these dishes. Our waiter (Andreas) was very helpful and knowledgeable and perfectly attentive. We will be going back, hopefully soon and with friends as they will think we have exaggerated our kudos. Great selection of wines and specialty Martini's complemented our evening. Four thumbs up from Bob and Theresa!!
