This was our first "official" stop on our self made itinerary of a "Black Beard Adventure" and it did not disappoint! The portion of the museum about Black Beard & the Queen Anne's Revenge was great. The rest of the museum was good too! Although we were all "grown ups" we still did the museum scavenger hunt, and had a lot of fun with that! The museum staff were friendly & welcoming and very pleasant!
Overall a great stop on our adventure!

I particularly liked the info on coastal habitats. I had a great conversation with one of the volunteers about the whale skeleton on display in the museum.

Interesting information, especially if you like Blackbeard and anything pirate like. They have added some items to the museum, which was very interesting. Worth the stop.

It was very hot when we visited Beaufort and we needed to get into some air conditioning so we went into the Maritime Museum and were pleasantly pleased with what it had to offer. We attended a narrated slide show of the steam ship Pulaski that exploded and sank off the NC Coast in June 1838 and we learned of the heroic stories of 30 survivors. The museum has a large exhibit about Black Beard and the Search for his Ship--Queen Anne's Revenge, plus other smaller nautical exhibits. The museum also has a nice gift shop. We really enjoyed the Museum and would recommend it to anyone visiting Beaufort.

A step back in time of the history of NC mariners and Pirates!
Great staff with a deep knowledge and appreciation of the outer Banks, Beaufort and Moorehead City waters.

Wonderful!
