Big pirate exhibit, everything you ever wanted to know about Blackbeard! But the best exhibit was about the salvaging of the Queen Anne's Revenge which includes a movie. And its all free :-)
Clean, well appointed exhibits, quite interesting, many included interactive displays.

The volunteer docent said the museum staff are mostly volunteers who may still be in the learning process but the gal we met was very knowledgeable.

What a great place to visit. See pieces of history on display in this museum that resembles Noah's Ark. Room after room displays the history of NC's coastline, featuring artifacts from actual shipwrecks off the Graveyard of the Atlantic. Kids will love this place, very interesting.

I had a few hours before going to Shackleford Is. to see the Wild Horses and decided to explore the town (Beaufort). This museum is loaded with history! Lots of artifacts--parts of sunken ships, info @ BlackBeard, and much more. Definitely worth exploring.

We were thrilled to stumble upon this small museum. It was free & perfect for our kids (6 & 9), engaging & interesting for them. Learned a lot about Blackbeard too!

My husband and I really enjoyed this museum. Most people come for the Blackbeard exhibit and that exhibit indeed is wonderful. The other exhibit I especially enjoyed was the lifesaving exhibit. Simply fascinating.

I've seen more than my share of both big and small museums. This gem of a museum is on my top-five list of small museums. Don't miss it.
