Had dinner while in Banner Elk one night. Great little place. The main house was booked, but they sat us upstairs, which was much quieter and relaxed. Excellent menu. Delicious tapas, and nice selection of reasonably priced wines. A great place to have a light bite and a bottle of wine to wind down the day.

A plain exterior but a sort of exotic Middle East interior with a bar area that seems to decorated with tree branches.

The menu is composed of bite-sized plates organized into fish, meat, vegetable and dessert categories. We usually order four dishes all together and have a couple of drinks from the bar.

Service was very fast and the food was hot and delicious. The servers were very efficient considering the several large parties they were serving as they were serving us.

Well worth a visit.

What a wonderful experience trying a tapas restaurant. This place has so much character and elegance - a must see. First visit we ate and drank at the bar - atmosphere was great. Second visit we ate in restaurant - very relaxing and laid back. We tried a large array of things....chicken pie, seared tuna, shrimp and grits, etc, plus an extravagant chocolate dessert. All were absolutely delicious. Staff was very friendly and efficient. We will always include this on our to do list when in the area.

We love the whole concept of tapas because you can get several smaller plates to taste and share rather than just, say, an appetizer and a main dish. Zuzda added a nice wrinkle to the concept in that they provided such a wide array that included eclectic dishes with European, Latin, Asian and California influences, but also a nice list of items that I would classify as comfort food for friends that might not be as adventurous. Our waitress was spectacular in explaining each of the dishes that interested us and advising us on the different sizes of each. This was helpful in making decisions on numbers of plates to order. You can BYOB, if you want, but there is a $15 uncorking fee, so why bother? Other than that, the price was very reasonable.
