Friends recommended the villa and winery to us . Beautiful place but they need experienced cleaning staff .bathroom was so dirty ,the toilet paper holders grimy and the toilet was dirty with urine on it ,the tub had not been cleaned and there was hair in it.. The carpets needed vacuumed .The sheets were not damp ,but really wet. All in all the winery and property are amazing. The room we rented was the most expensive room and for the price the cleanliness of the place over all was pore even in common areas . No extra towels, there was a problem with laundry.

Room Tip: Make sure you check for cleanliness before check in .The rooms are extremely expensive ,to not be cl...

We had planned a vacation thru the States, and at one point we were driving down the Blue Ridge Parkway. I reviewed the Winery and Villa, and was looking forward to our stay. We arrived on Tuesday 13th August at around 7:00pm. A young lady at the Villa re-directed us down to the winery saying'You need to go and see Terry'. This we did to be confronted by a wedding party at the winery door. A young man whom I assume to be the best man, confronted my wife, and said, Its closed for a private wedding,Can't you read' !!!
Eventually we managed to find Terry, who then said ' I have upgraded you' The UPGRADE turned out to be a log cabin a mile down the road, very much a DOWNGRADE. It seems although we had booked 4 months earlier, our room had been resold. Terry then attempted to charge us the full rate for the log cabin, which advertised rates HALF the amount, and that was for six people.
That night we dined at Stone walls in Banner Elk, and met a waiter who used to work at the Winery, he said' She does that all the time '. So if your thinking of going to the Winery, be prepared to stay elsewhere !!!

This place is what you would expect of a B&B. Quiet, relaxed, beautiful views, etc...

Breakfast each morning served between 930-10. We ate on the back porch with sleeves on in July. It was awesome. Cabernet room was awesome with fireplace and it's own bathroom including a two person Jacuzzi tub. We loved everything about this B&B. Banner Elk town is very close and has restaurants to serve each night.

Banner Elk Winery and Villa is top notch!

We googled wineries in the Blowing Rock area. We narrowed our list down to this and Grandfather Winery (See its own review) for a Sunday-after church outings. We started at Banner Elk. We picnicked by their pond and headed to the winery for a tasting and music. The young lady giving the tasting was knowledgable and pleasant. The music was Dylan Cable (I may have misspelt) he alone was worth the trip. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. The only reason we left was because we had another place we wanted to check out. So we bought a couple bottles of wine and headed down the road. It will be on our itenery next time we are in the area.

The Banner Elk Winery and Villa is a very special place. We only spent one night. It was so peaceful and quiet, and the wine tasting is the best we've tried in North Carolina. We were visiting in Boone, North Carolina on business, and found this to be a great, convenient place to stay... and the wine tasting was free with our room! The people are very friendly... and the views in every direction are beautiful and serene. Take an extra couple of minutes to drive up the mountain to the upper vineyard and see the panoramic view of the valley ...all the way to Grandfather Mountain. It's amazing and well worth the time.

Went after horseback riding with our 10 year old and loved it. Really comfortable and great staff. We are not rose drinkers but this one is so good we purchased bottles to take home. Only negatives - you cannot purchase logo glasses and they need more outdoor seating. Regardless we liked the wines and we will visit again.

The Villa is richly and comfortably decorated and offers a number of lovely rooms to choose from (we got a chance to see them all). The living area and den, with a fireplace, are open to guests, as is the kitchen (a nice option for storing cold drinks, etc.). The hosts, Terri and Lee, were extremely nice and friendly, and breakfast - served on a porch overlooking the mountains if you so wish - was delish. The hot tub is wonderful and offers a view of the stars, even better when enjoyed while sipping one of the winery's fine wine offerings.

There was a bit of miscommunication for our check in, but Terri was extremely gracious and willing to do whatever necessary to make it right. To clarify the "average" rating for sleep quality, we stayed in the Bordeaux Suite which had a soft memory foam mattress and my back prefers a bit more support. If that's the case for you as well, I'd ask about one of the other suites that might have a firmer mattress.

Bottom line - we plan to go back and are looking forward to checking out one of the fireplace suites in the late fall or winter. The setting, hospitality, and luxurious feel of the house make this place a must-stay if you're up in the area.
