We were in a refurbished unit. New vinyl floor, carpeting, kitchen and bathroom really nice. However, appliances are very old & ice maker didn't work. Sofa old and very uncomfortable. Maintenance issues such as a moldy shower curtain (which they replaced), clock didn't work, lamp shade broken, should have been caught prior to someone using the unit. They say they are gradually working on the appliance and furniture replacements.
The upstairs bathroom was completely remodeled and looks great as well as the kitchen Great views of the surrounding area and the sunsets were awesome. Located in the mountains but easy to get the other towns such as Banner Elk, Valle Cruses, Boone and Blowing Rock.
We used our owner's getaway to rent a 2 bedroom with one son and grandson and the other son rented another 2 bedroom for he and his 2 boys. We had a blast! We ate lunches and suppers together and there were enough plates and silverware and glasses to go around at either place. We loved the unit that we were in. Would suggest, though, having the living area carpet steam cleaned.
Beautiful location but the unit had maintenance issues that weren't addressed (keys didn't work, blinds didn't let in any sunlight). Terrible bed :(. Logan at the front desk was awesome and gave us great advice.
We lucked out in that we were placed in one of the newly renovated units... we were the first ones to occupy the unit after renovations. There were a few minor issues but the staff was quick to handle them and were very professional.
Mostly we were there for a laid-back week, and this was a great place to do that. They had rebuilt the decks and walkways and we had our canvas chairs to sit out and enjoy the view. We did not try the amenities (pool, rec facility) but really did enjoy the 4th of July picnic.
This resort is in a great location to explore the Banner Elk - Blowing Rock area. There are wineries, breweries, shopping and fun things to do.
If you are a winter sports fan, they are located right at the Sugar Mountain Ski area.
