I visit many timeshare type resorts throughout the southeastern part of the country. This is by far my most favorite location. The weather in summer, the snow in winter, the leaves in the fall.
The resort is beautiful and well maintained. The condos are very nice and very comfortable. This is truely a home away from home....

My wife and I have stayed here several times (it's only 45 min.from our home in Tennessee) and have always enjoyed our visit. This last visit was only for a weekend with another couple who also enjoyed the stay.
They have a large pond with paddle boats and fishing. I caught a large trout (about 16"), hooked another which broke my fly off and several small bluegills (lots of fun on a fly rod). The resort booked a golf outing for Saturday at the Linville Falls Golf Club which is a typical mountain course with several interesting hole and very uncrowded.
The resourt has a Putt-Putt course which our niece and her family enjoyed earlier in the year. They also have tennis courts and an indoor pool. We have used the pool on a couple of occasions, but it isn;t real convenient because of the location (the condos are space around the lake and require either a long walk or ride in the car. It's also not as much fun in the summer as an outdoor pool would be. But due to the location in the mountains which can get rather cool even in the summer it's the best way to go.

Traveled with family for some R&R. We arrived on a Tuesday evening and were immediately welcomed. The accommodations initially surpassed expectation. We had a two bedroom unit on the ground floor. No view to speak of but the rooms were clean and spacious. We ran into a small issue with vermin in the master bedroom and management was quick to come out with mouse traps? While the refrigerator was clean and spacious and the stove and micro lovely, we found there were too few pots and pans to cook for 4, let alone the 7 the room is allotted to hold. We made due with a little creative ingenuity. In addition, the jacuzzi tub, while spacious and clean, leaked and the handle to direct water flow from the shower head to the bath did not function. A bit of a downer. On the up side, there are lots of natural attractions in the area and we took some great family hikes. The TV and DVD were lovely - a flat screen in both the living area and master bedroom. The washer and dryer in our unit were a great plus as well! And the beds were amazing! My husband appreciated the small work out room. Overall, a neat place to stay with maybe a new eye toward detail needed.

Room Tip: We had no issue with noise although we were advised before going to ask for an upper level room. May...

Traded out our timeshare for this place and it was great! There are walking trails, paddleboats on a little pond, tennis courts and you are right off the highway (but you don't hear the noise) so it's easy to get to.

Rooms were comfortable and staff was very nice. We stayed in the summer and did not realize all the things to o in this area and the cool temps made it easy to do everything we wanted!

This was an unexpected delight near Grandfather Mountain. This is really a time-share resort but is often open to regular travelers.
First impressions can be deceptive as the resort looks tired but you will be happily surprised. The welcome was warm and welcoming but be aware you may be asked to attend the time-share seminar but it's a good offer to attend.
The rooms, sorry villas, consist of a large lounge with sleeper sofa, large TV, fireplace, dining table and armchair. You then walk into the open kitchen, complete with cooker, microwave, coffee maker, large fridge freezer, plenty of cupboards with all you need. There is a pantry, cupboards with a washer dryer, AC unit and trash area.
Down a small hall was a walk-in closet (huge) leading to a massive bathroom complete with sink, toilet, separate shower and jacuzzi tub.
The bedroom was complete with king bed, plenty of draw space, armchair and large TV.
Parking was near to the apartment and is generally numbered.
FREE WIFI was extremely poor for handheld devices but worked on laptops.
The only downside was the sound travels if you are situated beneath another apartment but generally not too bad.
On site was a pool, children's play area, gym, activities, crazy golf and lots of out door BBQ areas.
Shopping for was near by as are local land marks.
A good central point for this area.

We're Festiva owners and have stayed at Blue Ridge Village twice, in 2012 and again in 2013. We love the resort and its beautiful setting in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The cool, clean mountain air is a welcome break from the summer heat at our home in Dallas, TX. Banner Elk is a very nice small town. In 2012 we were there the first week of July and and enjoyed the activities on July 4--the parade and the games and picnic in the park. We happily make the long, two-day drive from our home in Dallas to Blue Ridge Village because we enjoy being there so much. We just wish we could stay longer!

Room Tip: Some units are two-story townhouse-type units, while others are single-story units. If climbing stai...
