“Incredible Food and Desserts Are Incredible”
Reviewed February 7, 2013

If you just want a sandwich there is no place like this. But this cafe has a wonderful assortment of frozen entrees that are the best! They are no more expensive than grocery entrees and a 1000xxxx better. The desserts are just fantastic and the owners are warm and charming. Get them to cater your next event, you won't believe it.

“Unique and Excellent”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

My wife and I have lived in this area for 12 years. I have heard good things about this restaurant from friends but never ate there. Today we decided to stop. It is in a small strip mall. When we went in we were greated immediately by a very pleasant waitress. She explained what they offer. They have lunch and on certain days dinners. It is small but very inviting. We had a wonderful lunch. The chef and his wife are the owners. Both came to our table and we chatted for sometime getting the history and their background. Chef Dominic is from England and you can really tell in the food. It is perfect with excellent seasoning and preparation. He also won Fire on the Rock in this area which has the finest chefs in the area. I would highly recommend this hidden gem. They also have fine soups, prepared chicken pot pies, shepherd pies and other dinners that are prepared for you to take home and just put in the oven for a wonderful dinner at home. And do not forget to look at the wonderful cakes and pies that you can purchase to take home.

“A little slice of heaven (and I'm not just talking about the Steak and Ale Pie)”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

The former chef of Hound Ear's Club and Crestwood Resort has opened his own cafe, and he and his wife have created a diamond in the rough. A friendly face, not to mention great English accent, create a charming, cozy cafe at the shops at Grandfather. All food is prepared and cooked on site (not your typical cafe of having food shipped in). I highly recommend calling a head and ordering a Steak and Ale pie which kindheartedly fills 4 people for dinner (not to mention the care and attention to detail put into the baked goods in general i.e. pastry leaves on top). At thanksgiving this year I ordered pumpkin and pecan pies and my family ate like kings. Pies are just the tip of iceberg for call a head food. Whether for dinner or stopping in for lunch for a soup and sandwich, you will not be disappointed! Still haven't been to their famous once a month "Fish and Chip's" night... very popular event, reservations are a must!

“Charming”
Reviewed December 6, 2012

My boyfriend & I had decided to stop here for lunch. We used to have a business in this plaza (shopping mall) & have seen restaurants come & go. We checked the reviews & since they sounded promising we stopped. Service was pleasant, getting around was a bit tight, but it is a small place. We ordered the smoked turkey sandwich & deli sandwich. My smoked turkey was delightful & the pasta salad was good. My boyfriend's deli sandwich was thin & you really couldn't tell that there was more than one meat on it. The bread was devine however. And my boyfriend loved the cold apple cider & the chocolate cake. We may stop again for a piece of pie.

“Fresh Food”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

Fresh homemade food. Small menu, but very tasty. Sandwiches and salads. Homey atmosphere, reasonably priced, and you can buy prepared foods to go!
