“Kind of scary but beautiful view!”
Reviewed December 22, 2012 via mobile

We went on our stay at spring break. For those afraid of heights, the climb is not bad, but the top is small and covered in glass. It wasn't too bad for me, but my dad hit his head in the small opening to get into the top and was dizzy and high up. The views were gorgeous though!!

“108 Steps - Only for the fit and fearless!”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

The lighthouse is beautiful standing tall and proud!

The small gift shoppe was out of water, so plan ahead. The view is outstanding but they need to clean the windows. The sun's reflection on the glass created bright spots on some pictures and the glass was too spotty when the camera was placed against it. You could fry an egg in less than five minutes so you won't want to stay long viewing. If your waistline is not as slim as it could be, you might not fit the narrow opening of the top viewing area.

“Great View”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

Great stop for someone who has never done it before. Climbing to the top can be a struggle for some and the very top is not for those that do not like small and I mean small spaces.

“Well worth it!”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

After a super ferry ride, we took our rental bikes up to Baldy. The woman was just opening, and asked us to wait for a few minutes please. Mind you, these are volunteers!!!! We were the first up the lighthouse (109 steps), then up a LADDER and through a small opening into the lighthouse. I feel that smaller children might not be able to navigate the ladder/ opening, but once up there, you are afforded incredible views of this magical island. No cars...only bikes, golf carts or on foot. It makes the experience even better!

“Great scenery, terrible service”
Reviewed October 7, 2012 via mobile

The lighthouse is beautiful, the setting is so charming. We went in October on a beautiful Saturday. There were a couple of weddings going on, so we could not visit the chapel. We wanted to go into the museum and lighthouse, but the employee there made it clear that it was going to close in 20 minutes and that she had dinner reservations and had to catch the 4:30 ferry. She told everyone who came in, and seemed very annoyed that people were there. She was quite rude. We found this to be the case with most of the employees on the island.
