“Awesome breakfast and value!”
Reviewed August 7, 2012

Our family of 5 had fresh made to order breakfast for $23.00. You also have a view of the water! The food was all good, very good gravy! All people very friendly. Worth it if you are in the area, and very close to Four Mile Creek State Park if you are in the area.

“Breakfast or lunch the place to eat”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

We count on eating at the Village Diner when in Youngstown for our quadrennial family reunion. The view of the river is cool, service great and friendly, and the food is the best! We get there early for the corner window table with the best view. The other day they quickly accommodated 13 for breakfast.

“Full of Character, Fantastic Service, Good Food, and Cozy!”
Reviewed June 24, 2012

We visited here in July of 2011, but have not thought of writing this review until now. We will be heading this way again next month and will make time to stop at this Diner again. My son and I originally stopped here when leaving a soccer tournament at nearby Niagara State Park. Parking was available on street.

We stopped here about noon on a Sunday, and just managed to find two stools at the counter. Found out they were closing about 1 o'clock or so, as they apparently usually do on Sunday. Struck up a conversation with a busy server, and found the counter service wonderful after that, with numerous offers to refill your coffee, and while busy, they did not make you feel that you had to hurry. Various serving trays and other items were apologetically placed momentarily on the counter near us, as the servers went about their business. Overall, the atmosphere in the relatively small establishment was truly "old-fashioned" and cozy. Several local elderly regulars, it seemed, came to the counter during our visit and were greeted by name, adding to the character of the diner.

The breakfast choices were fairly priced and quite good, with decent size helpings, with good and plentiful coffee.

My son and I talked favourably about this spot for some time afterward. We were made to feel welcome among local regulars. If going on a Sunday, get there before noon before they close!
We will look forward to returning in a few weeks when we pass by Youngstown.

“Just Amazing”
Reviewed June 11, 2012 via mobile

Honestly, we were hesitant to go in, it didn't look... Appealing? But once we go in there it was obviously a busy, hopping place! The atmosphere is like eating at home or on your back closed in patio. Fresh breeze from the lake coming in, no typical fountain drinks! You actually get bottled soda! The food was great, the service was great! Kid friendly! I can go on and on. Highly reccomended!

“A good solid diner with a fantastic view”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

We went Sunday at around noon on our way to Fort George. The diner was full, but we got seats in about 15 minutes or so after arriving. We ordered breakfast, and everything came out as good as you can have it! Hash was crispy without being oily or greasy. Pancakes were light and fluffy. The service was a bit on the slow side, but the place was busy. Our server still managed to keep tabs on us. You can see that they really help each other out to try and keep the customer happy.

Met the owner on the way out. Seemed like a really nice guy. It was nice to be able to thank him for a good meal.

The view is nothing less than spectacular and adds a really nice element to your meal.

By the way, we paid about $36 for 3 omelets and 2 orders of pancakes. Where else can you go to get that kind of meal?
