We stopped here on our way to the airport and I'm so glad we did, the castle is really neat and many other interesting things to see. It's really cool to see such historic buildings still standing, defiantly a treat.

Old Fort Niagara has stood the test of time and the test of changing countries many times over. The fort is in amazing condition. Four foot thick walls, beautiful brick and stone architecture. The period furnishings in certain rooms really makes you feel as if you've been transformed back into time. One of my favorite displays was in the provisions storehouse. A model replica of the fort encased in glass is detailed so beautifully. The modeled men were about 1/4 - 1/2" high, yet the observer could tell which soldier they were and what they were doing. Amazing! The map painted on the wall as a large mural in itself was very educational. My husband and son enjoyed the musket demonstration citing that the soldier was filled with a lot of information.
Make sure you watch the historical movie before starting your tour, which starts every hour on the hour. Walking around the fort provided beautiful views and much appreciation for history.

For those who love American history, this is a must see. You can completely imagine how the men lived in this fort and how history shaped this beautiful location. If you are from anywhere, this is a great piece of history that has and will last the test of time. Fall colors made this location even more beautiful.

My little cousin visited from Italy and we took him there for the day. He loved all the history and the beautiful view. You could even see Toronto that day over the water.
