Description: X2O Xaviars on the Hudson is Peter X Kelly’s latest addition to the Xaviars Restaurant Group. It sits in the water on the only turn of the century Victorian pier still in use on the Hudson River. X2O’s Main Dining Salon's 25 foot vaulted ceiling and 3 walls of glass frame offers views of the George Washington and Tappan Zee Bridges, as well as sunsets over the Palisades. Guests encounter dishes incorporating classic French technique with Italian and Spanish influences, and Asian embellishments which create a wholly original cuisine unique to the Hudson Valley. The Dylan Lounge is a vibrant, up-tempo space with a sophisticated and playful bent that offers guests more dining options. Guests are invited to sample a variety of small plates and sushi, while dining at the Communal Table, sushi bar, or at traditional banquette and table seating.

If you are looking for great food and service overlooking the Hudson River in Downtown Yonkers, this might be the place. On Sunday's they host a wonderful brunch which is a delight for all who attend.

Visited 07/25/2018 for our 25th anniversary. It's been quite a while since we ate here last. Right on the Hudson this is as good as it gets regarding a view of this historic river. Last time we were here we were 'stuck' in the middle of the restaurant. This time we were lucky enough to get a table next to a window. Well, that's a bit misleading since three of the four walls are glass top to bottom, so even a table in the middle isn't 'terrible.' Even the bathroom walls are top to bottom glass. Really amazing!
We started with Ceviche for the Mrs. and grilled Thai shrimp with cold sesame noodles for me. The ceviche chilled and very fresh. My appetizer consisted of three nice large grilled shrimp on a bed of carrot slivers and sesame noodles. Both dishes very nicely presented and quite delicious.
We both ordered Short ribs, served with grilled cauliflower and onions on puree of sunchoke. We both agreed that these short ribs were as good as we've ever had. So tender and perfectly seasoned. The cauliflower was perfectly done and paired wonderfully with the crispy onions. No potatoes or rice or pasta made this a meal we could 'walk away from' table and not look for some place to nap.
Because we used a GroupOn, we were given a glass of sparkling wine (Proseco I believe... very good.
Our dessert for me (also included in the GroupOn was a creme brulee for me and a very generous piece of carrot cake for the Mrs. Both were excellent.
Our waitress Brittany was very friendly and accommodating in helping us make decisions with the wine and our meals.
We look forward to coming back here again.

We have been coming here off and on since the opening. Last sunday evening we were here with a group to celebrate a birthday...some of whom had never been here and I can honestly say I was unhappy that the dinner did not live up to what to what it could and should have been. first off......the entry way is shabby and a definite turn off...it does not matter who owns the actual entry space-it should be much nicer....it does not set the state for an expensive dinner. The restaurant itself is starting to show its age-it needs to be freshened up.....the flowers were definitely on their last legs. All that being said we found the service to be slow, inconsistent and not up to par for a restaurant that expensive. yes...it was a large staff....however they tried very hard but need more training suitable for a restaurant of this type.....the food was okay....we enjoyed it....but it was overpriced. All that being said, with a little work this could once again be a really special dining event.

We are fans of Peter Kelly's restaurants. We ate at Freelance Cafe dozens of times before he sold it. We also love Restaurant X. We ate at X2O previously and enjoyed it. It's in a beautiful setting and the restaurant is lovely. We were surprised at how much the quality of the food and service have diminished since our last visit. The service is shoddy and the food is average, at best. My soft shelled crabs had a thick coating that one would find on a crab in a crab roll. My wife's skate was also disappointing. The wait staff was not very good and the meal had the feeling of a meal at a theme park. It was the emperor's new clothes. How did this happen?
