“Old School Italian-American”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

If you ever had a favorite neighborhood Italian restaurant that your folks took you to as a kid, with substantial platters of hearty favorites such as fettucine carbonara with big chunks of bacon, gooey chicken marsala or oily garlicky clams, then welcome home. Nothing too fancy or too pricey just lots of good stuff. It's a big hangout for local politicians, lawyers and cops but you don't feel like a tourist walking in for the first time. The place is friendly and well worth a visit. The bar is also well priced and generously poured.

“Great Italian food”
Reviewed December 14, 2013

Giulio's is a very good Italian restaurant. Giulio is an excellent cook. The place is spotless. The food has something for everyone and portions are large. Prices are reasonable. It is located on Park Hill in Yonkers and the place isn't fancy. You just go for a good meal.

“Real Italian Food”
Reviewed October 26, 2013 via mobile

Few people are lucky enough to have grown up eating handmade, real Italian food, and I was one if them.
Giulio's is the real thing, right down to the stereotypical clientele, which were are also wonderful.
I ordered chicken martini, which was outstanding. The chicken melted in my mouth.
In all my years of ordering spaghetti at restaurants I have always been disappointed in the red sauce, but this red sauce reminded me Nana's. Yum!

“Excellent”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

I had not been to Giulio's in quite some time and I am not sure why. Went there yesterday for Father 's Day and the food was excellent as was the service. Kerri our waitress could not have been more accomodating. We started off with chopped claims and a cold antipasto, followed by penne ala vodka- I had the caribbean chicken which was not on the menu but having been there before I knew that on Saturday nights they had caribbean pork chops as a special so I asked if they would make caribbean chicken for me. It was outstanding. Every dish was better than the next. We also had Chicken sorrentino - Veal rollatini (which is also not on the menu - but Giulio was happy to make it for us)Chicken Rustico - Porterhouse pork chop. All dishes come with veggie of pasta. The creme brulee cheese cake is to die for. Tuesday and Wednesday are past night - any pasta with any sauce for 9.95 with a salad. Already have plans to go there next Friday night.

“AND THE NEPPERHAN FLOWS HOME TO THE HUDSON”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

While Sholokov stood accused of plagiarism, my humble offering is only a bit derivative; compensating for a dearth of creativity. Considering the muse for long left Yonkers, one tries to wax poetic & rise above the standard 'prole' pasta-praising, prattle prose, pretending to review. Enough said. Although not from Yonkers, or even worse, the Bronx; I'm neither stranger to Guilio's, nor to the table at large, that truth be told, is my girth right. And here in the benighted
City of Yonkers, not unlike Pastroudis in Alexandria, where Durrell lingered over cappuccino; Guilio's harks back to the long lost days of Italian feasts, Yonkers' finest & firemen; like shades of Alexander's legions marching to his eponymous city. The Nepperhan, now the Canopic Nile as it exits the Delta, that witnessed the Macedonian youth, & centuries later Napoleon landing off Abu Kir, awakening the sleeping beauty, Mamluk Egypt; saw the Englishman who gave his name to New York's river in 1609 & the American inventor's ship steam pass 200 years later. And like present day Alexandria, no longer a reflection of Mediterranean Europe on the shores of Africa, Yonkers is now a settlement of Africa, Latin America & the Caribbean as well as the sub-continent, all here on the shores of the Hudson. But, 'never to despair,' as late into the Parkhill night, long after one leaves Guilio's for the provinces, well-fed & imbued with Bacchus; then beneath the morass, & possibly proving Thomas Wolfe wrong, lies the dream city.
