Yes the climb up the mountain is difficult and the views wonderful, but be aware of the parking situation. there is one small parking lot which fills up quickly especially on the weekends. And I guess you can park in the Buddhist Monastery too. BUT do not park along the fence which hugs the road near the parking lot. The police (thank you officer Jiminian) handed out not one but two tickets to every car parked along the fence (there may have been 20 cars that received tickets. The first was for obstructing traffic (possibly true, although cars were able to pass easily) and the second ticket for failing to obey signs (which were upon observation hidden and out of site). So the Woodstock police force did it's best to ruin the day of many hikers by ticketing them (cost $25 a ticket and no place to plead not-guilty on the ticket). I did my best to warn other drivers who were about to park and possibly saved 5 cars from getting tickets. Yes thanks again officer Jiminian.
