“A goodbye summer fling on Long Island”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2012

My husband and I had the opportunity to join friends in the celebration of their daughters wedding. We stayed near the wedding location, The Inn at Fox Hollows. The hotel is very comfortable and the staff upon our arrival was very pleasant and helpful.
We were greeted on arrival by Dan, the Manager. Very professional. Michael at the front desk was spectacular. Our shuttle driver was super. Graham the bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Ula, the head of housekeeping was really lovely and sincere.
The dinners were wonderful, they got a new chef recently from what we were told. The breakfast was fine, same thing every morning. Eh.
The gardens are beautiful and breakfast in the Courtyard was really nice. This place is worth a look for anyone who wants a nice, pleasant place that is close to many sites.

We stayed here for two nights before and after a wedding. The room was large with a small kitchen, a king-sized bed, and a bathroom with a bath and toilet and an anteroom with sinks and a closet. There was a nice couch and a flat-screen TV which swiveled to face anywhere in the room. The bed was comfortable and it had enough pillows to smother a horse - most of them ended up on the couch to make room for us on the bed. Our room faced a lovely courtyard, and the included breakfast buffet was a cut above what is usually found in hotels. It was expensive but definitely nicer than a chain hotel. It was a few steps away from the Rose Hunt Restaurant, which I will review separately.

Service upon check in was non existent. No one at desk at check in time. Checking into three rooms, all of which were to be near each other. Were at three different parts of hotel. Requested change of rooms, never happened. Room never made up on first morning !

We had four nights around a wedding at the same establishment. We enjoyed a comfortable stay even though the hotel was busy and full with guests attending multiple weddings. Rate included a good breakfast and dinner Sun -Thurs although we never made use of the "free" dinner. Weather was a bit crazy for mid summer so we didn't try out the pool. Rooms are nicely furnished and have great facilities. Not sure why we would have a full kitchen when breakfast and dinner most nights is provided but still nice to have. Appreciated the free delivered paper too. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Room Tip: You would want to avoid rooms near the escalator/stairs where noise from breakfast below would rise...

I had to take part in a 3 day training program here. When I stepped into the suite I was speechless. It was arranged to the modern style but with classic charm. It was very spacious and even the kitchen area was designed to blend in with the other things in the suite. The staff was also very helpful and they are ready to provide their assistance anytime we needed. It was a really great experience here and I hope to visit here for the next vacation with my family.

I stay here everytime I'm on Long Island for the business. The staff is always pleasant and accomidating. The rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. With the free breakfast and dinner this makes the rate a true bargain. I am always impressed by the quality of the food as well. The Inn at Fox Hollow is one of my favorite places to stay in the country. Even when I have to work in NYC I stay here and take the train. (Did I mention they have a free shuttle to the train station?). Cheaper than staying in the city and much nicer.

Room Tip: If you have kids, ask for an interior room on the first floor, they have doors right into the courty...
