We've been hooked on Messina's for years. Our favorites are seafood fra diavolo, scallops, robust chicken and veal dishes with flavorful sauces, great pizza (especially spinach),and just-right pasta. Servings are fresh, generous, and fairly priced. We call on Chef Ed for catering rescues when we know we'll have a crowd at home. (Better to ski than cook!) We order platters of our favorites and, with a day's notice, Ed respects our request: lasagnas with extra mushrooms or eggplant, less cheese, spicier or milder seasonings. Service is friendly if a tad slow and forgetful occasionally. When we eat here, we feel at home; it's much better than toughing it out at the over-crowded places in the center of town. This is the one place on the mountain top where every member of our family and visiting friends (yes, the vegetarians and heart-healthy old-timers, too) finds appetizers and entrees that are always just right and often a bit special.
