We have tent camped at the North Pole Campground annually for the last 5+ years and would recommend it without reservation. We have camped in private, state and national campgrounds across the country and the North Pole campground has the cleanest bathrooms hands down of anywhere we've ever stayed! This alone is reason to visit -- especially if your staying for several days. I highly recommend camping in the 100 acres section as the sites here provide much more privacy and separation from site to site -- unfortunately, the tent sites on the resort side of the campground are all right on top of each other and not well separated. Despite such, this is a wonderful, clean campground with easy access to Lake Placid and the surrounding sites.

the reveiw written by wteva2u is not correct. We visit this camp ground for years and with 2 dogs. never have we ever had a problem. Everyone who camps with dogs know you have to keep them quiet, this is a given at ALL campgrounds. Shame on them for writting such a bad reveiw when it clearing is their loack of respect for other campers. Jim and Mary Ellin do a fantastic job. keep up the good work.

My girlfriend and I came up to Wilmington for a late August weekend and stayed in a travel trailer. We arrived Friday afternoon to a sunny, fresh air filled campground!
Our site was located near a bathroom but not too close to smell or hear anything. The bathrooms were clean, the water was hot and showers were clean!
Our check in was flawless, directions to our site were impeccable.
The location in the Adirondack park is central to everything!
And the campground store has the best microbrew selection around!
This isn't the most thurough review ever but you get the point!
Clean and friendly, best campground near Lake Placid.

We have over the past 15 yrs been frequent visitors to the North Pole Campground and Hotel. The early years as campers with our kids to visit and friends to play golf etc. To the later yrs as guests in the hotel. Through the years it just keeps getting better! The very friendly, very helpful owners are always there for you in any possible way. They try to meet your every need! I would recommend everyone to stay here. We loved the updates to the rooms. The woodsy/adirondack look and feel and the Xmas theme! The rooms were the cleanest we had ever seen and well kept up! It is a pleasure to stay here and not worry. This time we could only stay one night. It was a surprise trip for my girlfriends 50th birthday. They loved the resort too. Next time we will make sure we have at least 2 nights so we can enjoy the Wilmington area even more! They accmodated our group even though we could only stay one night. The store has everything you might need or have forgotten and the gift shop is fully stocked with so much and it is reasonable for everyone! It is so close to Lake Placid and would be great for so many things to do in the area. Kids will love the Christmas/Santa theme. We look forward to a return trip hopefully next yr. If you have never stayed here please give it a try, you will not be disappointed! The owners will make you feel at home and you will come back! They are doing something right! From the small campground from years ago to now a Resort area. With pools, river nearby, hotel, store and gift shop , mini golf, laundry facility and the cleanest nicest rooms around! Keep up the great job!!! Hope to see you again.
Thank you! The Armstrongs!

Room Tip: Above par excellent clean immaculant rooms and ameties!

My family and I just returned from a 6 day stay at the North Pole Campground. We completely enjoyed ourselves and look forward to returning next year. Everything is done well there, from the very friendly staff helping you into your site, to the people in the office answering questions about the area! We chose to stay in the resort area, because we had family staying at the inn and we wanted to be close to them. We did walk over to the 100 acre woods, though, and were impressed with the large sites. The resort area is right on the river and we enjoyed many days of canoeing. The beach is a quick 5 minute walk down a road with sidewalks. The pools were so clean, as were the bathrooms. I honestly don't think I've ever seen a cleaner campground. There was so much to do that you really didn't even need to get in your car and go anywhere. We had a great time!

We have never been treated as poorly as we were at your resort on Aug 4th. Maybe rather than scream at my daughter's for my dog barking you should have addressed the camper at the end of the street who was screaming profanities for all to hear. Granted my dog barked for 10-15 minutes when everyone arrived but I did quiet her down. It was easier to go to our favorite campgrounds in Wilmington rather than be treated so poorly by the management. Speaking to fellow campers as we were leaving they didn't even hear the dog bark.

North Pole Resort is the campground that most other campgrounds should strive to be. It is the best one that I've ever stayed at. The campground is beautiful, the bathrooms are spotless (cleaner than the ones you'd see in some people's homes) and there are plenty of activities to do both at the resort and in the surrounding area.

The staff is amazing - helpful, meticulous and very friendly. It's clear that their main objective is to make sure that you have a pleasant stay. Our kids (aged 2 and 5) were quite fond of all of them.

The Camp Store/Gift Shop is also worth mentioning. The selection, quality and prices of the products in there are very reasonable. Most importantly - they have a phenomenal selection of microbrew beers!

We enjoyed our stay here so much that we actually booked our trip for next year before we left.
