Made a last minute decision to spend the weekend at Lake Placid for last Ironman training. Usually stay in Lake Placid but all hotels were booked. Found Alpine on line and very pleased. Nice room, extremely clean. Judy and Bill are very warm and friendly ... and Lucy the Dog is very cute! It was nice to be away from the tourist fray of Lake Placid.

Thank you Celie for your wonderful and honest review. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay with us. As a small property and family operated, we can focus on the small details, the cleanliness and a personal Adirondack welcoming. Wilmington is a great little town with big mountains for hiking, cycling and wonderful people. Best of luck with your Ironman training!

First time skiing at Whiteface and Judy and Bill were the perfect hosts, so friendly and informative before and during our visit. The Olympic Suite was a perfect size, my teenage son loving his own space in the living area with the pullout. So clean and nicely decorated and close to the mountain. Thinking about coming back in the summer!

Thank you for choosing to stay with us. We're glad you enjoyed the Olympic Suite as most families find it to be the most accommodating. Please come back this summer when we can help you toast some s'mores over the campfire!

It is Mom and Pop and they are Judy and Bill. We had intended to do a couple days of XC skiing during our visit, but the locals with snowmobiles were out of luck. Our room was clean and toasty and we had to open the door at bedtime for a bit to let the room cool enough for sleeping. We had a microwave and fridge in the room, but did not use them. Breakfast was okay and included bananas, apples, pastries, orange juice, tea, and a hot cereal mix as well as granola bars. In the afternoons, after excursions, we appreciated the hot chocolate always available.

I had some enjoyable conversations with Bill in some mornings and he directed us to a wildlife preserve that is across the road and on the other side of the river. We were treated to three wolves howling in unison to great us. The facility is heated by a wood burning furnace which also provides the almost instant and never ending hot water.

The only drawback was the WIFI which was about 1 Mbps when there were not many users. I would buy a top notch WIFI router and at least have high speed in the lounge.

I forgot a commemorative tee shirt from the skeleton run and Bill was quick to seek my mailing address to send it to me.

Room Tip: Room 3 has great heat.

Hi Joe. Thank you and Sonia for your wonderful review and we'll glad you enjoyed your stay. It was a pleasure to host a nice couple from the Sunshine State. Sorry about the lack the snow - its just been one of those unusually warm winters here in the North Country. I, too, enjoyed our conversations each day. Thank you for your concerns about our Internet. I'm working to create better Internet speed. Hope to see you next winter when, by chance, we'll have to dig out your car from 22 inches of powder!

The Alpine Country Inn and Suites offers a five star experience that is second to none! I stayed there during the 2016 Saranac Lake Winter Carnival. Both the host Billy and his wife (hostess) Judy will, can, and did make my visit nothing less than another memorable experience. Their warm personalities and attention to details make this place exceptional! ) I have stayed here many times over the years during all seasons. Always great time Terry Flood, PSC, class of ’79

We had a great experience staying at Alpine Country Inn and Suites. Bill and Judy are totally invested in making their place like home away from home. The rooms are clean and neat, the shower was hot, the TV worked great and their inn is easy to get to. We enjoyed hot coffee and pastries each morning and had several enjoyable conversations with the owners. Bill jumped my truck for me one morning when it failed to start. All of that plus Alpine Country Inn is only 3 miles from Whiteface Mountain, our skiing destination. I would definitely plan to stay there again.

Room Tip: They are all good.
