We arrived a few days after the last snow storm of spring 2013 when they had closed access to the top. The Tuesday we arrived was warmish, balmy and we arrived at the top with only a handful of other people there. Elevator to the top and flip flops in the remaining snow with flowers nearby. The view of Lake Placid was clear and it was eerily quiet and no wind while we sat and enjoyed the views. The rocks had retained the warmth from the sun, which was about an hour or two away from descending. Vistas of Green with three ski slopes left covered in white in the distance. Beautiful.
